Acer to Supply London 2012

Computing powerhouse Acer has agreed a deal to provide technical equipment for the London Olympic Games.

The London Organising Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games (Locog) will receive 11, bronchi 000 desktops, 10,500 monitors, 1,500 laptops, 1,500 touch screens, 900 servers, 5 SANs and a range of accessories. Acer will also provide 350 technical assistants to help with the running of the games.

“Making an important contribution to the smooth and efficient running of the London 2012 Olympic Games is a very exciting task for Acer as we continue to serve more and more business customers. We want to prove that as our equipment and engineers can support the biggest sporting event in the world and satisfy the diverse needs of our Olympic customers, there is no doubt that we can also support businesses of any size,” said Walter Deppeler, Acer Europe, Middle East and Africa president and chief marketing.

Gerry Pennell, Locog’s chief information officer, added: “In a highly pressurised project with an immovable deadline, we rely not only on our equipment to work flawlessly, we also rely on the service and expertise delivered by our partners. Acer’s role is crucial in ensuring that the computing equipment infrastructure supporting the Games works the first time, and every time.”

LV= Extend Sponsorship of Rugby Competition

LV= has confirmed it will continue its title sponsorship of the LV=Cup for a further four years, cialis taking the insurance, decease retirement and investment group company to at least six years as title sponsor of the rugby competition.

The 2011/12 campaign begins the weekend of 14th October, with defending champions Gloucester Rugby welcoming Sale Sharks to Kingsholm.

The Rugby Football Union’s rugby operations director Rob Andrew commented: ‘The LV= Cup offers a genuine opportunity for young players to come forward and contest for silverware, and it has proven an effective development pathway for players moving up to the elite’. 

‘The tournament is a unique cross-border competition and with a place in Europe for an English winner, the LV= Cup is fast becoming a fixture calendar highlight for both clubs and supporters alike’.

Sophie Goldschmidt, RFU chief commercial officer added: ‘We are delighted to confirm that LV= will continue their sponsorship of the competition, committing to a further four years as title sponsor’. 

‘The renewed partnership between LV=, the RFU, WRU and Premiership Rugby furthers strengthens the development of the competition and we are confident that will continue over the next four years’.

Manchester United Earn Five-Year Deal in Kuwait

English Premier League powerhouses Manchester United have signed a long-term sponsorship deal with Telecommunications company Viva Kuwait.

Viva Kuwait Chief Executive,Salman Al-Badran, said: “Viva is honoured to embark on this historic partnership with Manchester United, and very excited to kick-off the 2011/12 season with an entertaining agenda full of promotions, activities and surprises for Viva customers, football fans, and most importantly, Manchester United fans.”

The deal will summount to five years, but the financial details will not be disclosed.

Al-Badran said that Manchester United fans in Kuwait can expect “Viva to provide subscribers with a number of opportunities to win unique experiences during the coming season, including all-inclusive trips to great games at Old Trafford.

”We will be launching a variety of new promotions and products and services, as well as offer gifts, host entertaining games, initiate interactive competitions, and set up mall activities to provide our customers with chances to watch the Red Devils on their home turf,” Al-Badran added.

Nick Humphreys, Manchester United’s relationship manager, said, “The mobile phone industry sits on the cutting edge of technological development. Rhino Rugby Stick With Rugby Expo

Rhino Rugby has extended its long-term agreement with Rugby Expo as the convention prepares to be revamped for its 2011 edition.

The company’s Rhino Turf will be supplied as the surface of a specially created ‘Interactive Zone’ which will host a range of hands-on activities and demonstrations during the event. Rhino CEO Reg Clark said: “We will showcase all of the Rhino brands at the event and are delighted to be central to the new interactive Zone. Visitors will be able to experience the Rhino Turf Mini Park while watching live demonstrations. This is an example of how the organisers have made changes which will make the event more rewarding for attendees, apoplectic exhibitors and partners alike.”

One of the most fundamental changes is the Interactive Zone with tweaks to the structure and marketing. Day One will focus on the issues facing the professional and international game while Day Two will be dedicated to community rugby, link with complimentary Day Two tickets being made available to grass roots clubs via a number of partner channels.

Maxifuel Secure Title Sponsorship of Leading Indoor Hockey Competition

The England Hockey Board has announced a new three-year sponsorship deal with sports nutrition brand Maxifuel.

Maxifuel will become the new title sponsor for hockey’s leading indoor competition, the Super Sixes Championships and Super Sixes Finals, which is scheduled to be held at Wembley Arena on Sunday 29 January 2012. 

The Maxifuel Super Sixes Finals will see the top men’s and women’s teams from the Maxifuel Super Sixes Championships compete at an end-of-season showpiece event featuring both the men’s and women’s finals, plus the men’s semi finals.

Mark Morgan, senior sponsorship manager at Maxifuel, said: “This deal represents a significant investment into hockey for Maxifuel. We see this as an exciting opportunity to help the England Hockey Board to grow the sport from grass roots to the international game, and to ultimately generate future success for the national team.”

Li Na increases endorsement contracts to new level in Asia

The first Chinese player to win a major tennis title Li Na is to become the world’s second highest earning female athlete after signing endorsement contracts worth at least $42 million.

Since her French Open win in June she has  signed seven deals worth between $2 million and $3.5 million each annually, her agent Max Eisenbud said in an interview. All seven contracts are for a period of three years.

Her agent revealed there could have been more but “We could do five more endorsement deals but she just doesn’t have the time.”

The highest earning Female is also a Tennis player and that is Russian Maria Sharapova who shares her agent. Sharapova makes about $24 million a year from prize money and endorsements, according to Forbes.

Since her Roland Garros win, Li has signed deals with German carmaker Daimler AG (DAI)’s Mercedes-Benz brand and Chinese insurance company Taikang Life Insurance Co., Eisenbud said. The logos will be worn on her outfit which is currently Nike.

Li Na’s place in the Australian Final led to to sponsorship deals with Swiss watch brand Rolex Group, U.S.-based ice-cream maker Haagen-Dazs and Chinese website Sina.

 

Columbus Crew sign with Medical Mutual

Major League Soccer (MLS) side Columbus Crew has entered into a two-year partnership with Medical Mutual, prostate an Ohio-based health insurance company.

Under terms of the agreement, treat financial details of which were not released, the firm becomes the club’s official health insurer, in addition to becoming the presenting sponsor of the Crew’s weekly radio show, ‘Inside the Crew’ on WBNS-FM (97.1), and receiving brand exposure within the club’s stadium and ‘Free Kick’ match-day programme.

“We are thrilled to welcome Medical Mutual aboard,” said Crew president and general manager Mark McCullers. “This is a key strategic partnership with an Ohio-based company that will produce a wide spectrum of positive benefits across our enterprise.”

Booster Juice Canada sign up Jose Bautista

The deal for the Toronto Blue Jays player, will see him appear in a series of television and outdoor advertisments, while a cardboard cut-out of him will appear in all 265 Booster Juice branches in Canada. Bautista will also make personal appearances and charitable donations on behalf of Booster Juice.

Crown Royal Whiskey to sponsor and rename Indy Motor Speedway

The Whiskey brand Crown Royal will soon announce that it will be the new sponsor of the The sprint Cup series at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

This comes after it announced that their deal with  Nascar team Roush Fenway Racing will not be extended.

Under terms of the multi-year agreement, and as part of Crown Royal’s attempts to honour US military and public servicemen, the race will now be officially known as Crown Royal Presents “Your Hero Here” 400 at the Brickyard.

Financial details of the agreement have not yet been released, however, sources close to negotiations believe the new deal to be worth US$15 million over a five-year period, US$1.5 million of which will go towards the title sponsorship with a similar amount to be spent on promoting the race itself.



Red Bull China to sponsor The World Badminton Championships

Red Bull China has become an official supplier of the Yonex BWF World Badminton Championships, London 2011, after agreeing a deal with Badminton England.

The brand will enjoy an extensive advertising presence both courtside and throughout Wembley Arena where the tournement will take place.
The arena will also host the Badminton for the Olympics next year.
Red Bull China’s director of sports marketing Joan Zhang  said: “The fast paced action at the Yonex BWF World Badminton Championships is a perfect match with Red Bull’s other sporting interests so we are happy to put all our energies into working with Badminton England to make the Championships a huge success.”
Badminton England chief executive Adrian Christy added: “It is a major step forward for badminton to bring on board such an established brand name such as Red Bull China ahead of the Yonex BWF World Badminton Championships on home soil at Wembley Arena.”
