Crown Royal Whiskey to sponsor and rename Indy Motor Speedway

July 29, 2011

The Whiskey brand Crown Royal will soon announce that it will be the new sponsor of the The sprint Cup series at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

This comes after it announced that their deal with  Nascar team Roush Fenway Racing will not be extended.

Under terms of the multi-year agreement, and as part of Crown Royal’s attempts to honour US military and public servicemen, the race will now be officially known as Crown Royal Presents “Your Hero Here” 400 at the Brickyard.

Financial details of the agreement have not yet been released, however, sources close to negotiations believe the new deal to be worth US$15 million over a five-year period, US$1.5 million of which will go towards the title sponsorship with a similar amount to be spent on promoting the race itself.
