Tier Three

Aggreko

Partnership Began: 2010

Aggreko plc is the world’s largest temporary power generation company.

Aggreko is the exclusive supplier of temporary energy services for London 2012. Aggreko will provide temporary power across 39 venues in eight different locations – London, Cardiff, Coventry, Cardiff, Glasgow, Manchester, Newcastle and Weymouth.

The temporary power will be provided by generators located at each venue distributed through over 1,000 kilometres of cable and 3,500 distribution panels.

Aggreko equipment will also be used to provide temporary power to field-of-play lighting and camera equipment in the various stadia as well as assisting to power the International Broadcasting Centre, which will be providing television feeds to billions of people around the world.

Airwave

Partnership Began: 2009

Airwave owns and operates the biggest public safety network in the world. Established in 2000, Airwave provides mission critical communications to the emergency services and public safety organisations in the UK.

For London 2012 Airwave is the Official Private Mobile Radio Services Supplier and will provide private mobile radio services to all Games venues.

Airwave’s Chief Executive, Richard Bobbett, said: “It is testament to the hard work and dedication of our employees that we have been selected. We will be building a brand new standalone communications infrastructure, completely separate to the public safety system we have in place already, but using all our experience of the emergency and public safety user and their needs – this will provide personnel at the Games with the most resilient and secure communications of its kind.”

Atkins

Partnership Began: 2009

Atkins is the official Engineering Design Services provider for the 2012 Games. Their services include help with building services design, acoustics, fire and accessibility advice for temporary Games venues in London and across the UK. These include Horse Guards Parade, Greenwich Park and Footballing venues St James’ Park, Hampden Park and the Millennium Stadium. 

Atkins has been part of the design team for the Olympic Park site since late 2005, working with partners to help with aspects of clearing and cleaning the site, road and bridges and ecological support.

Boston Consulting Group

Partnership Began: 2009

Boston Global Consulting (BCG) is a consulting firm with 77 offices in 42 countries.

The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) is the exclusive Strategic Consulting Provider for London 2012.

BCG CEO, Hans-Paul Bürkner commented: “Our work with London 2012 is another example of how BCG is applying leading-edge strategic thinking to sporting organisations around the world. We look forward to contributing to the success of the Games and leaving a legacy for generations to come.”

CBS Outdoor

Partnership Began: 2010

CBS Outdoor is the outdoor advertising division of media conglomerate CBS Corporation.

CBS Outdoor is the official Outdoor Advertising Supplier to London 2012. CBS Outdoor’s media space includes national bus and tram networks, the entire London Underground, National Rail and major retail space in London.

Former CBS Outdoor UK Managing Director Mike Moran, previously said: “Our partnership with London 2012 uses all our different site types on both our traditional and digital advertising estates and will enable us to showcase the value of our media to current and prospective clients.”

Crystal CG

Partnership Began: 2010

Crystal CG is one of the largest computer graphics firms in China. Crystal CG has more than 3000 employees in its offices across China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Dubai.

Crystal is the Official Digital Imaging Services Supplier of London 2012. Crystal’s creative designers are providing digital imaging services to support a variety of applications across the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) to enhance London 2012’s sports presentation, using images and animations to communicate with the public, producing images to assist in planning application purposes as well as facilitating ceremony spaces and facilities.

Eurostar

Partnership Began: 2010

High-speed rail company, Eurostar is the Official International Rail Services Provider of London 2012.

They are providing London 2012 with arrival and departure services at St Pancras International for those competing and working at the Games who are travelling to London on its trains.  It will also provide international rail services for London 2012’s operational requirements.

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP

Partnership Began: 2009

International law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer is the official legal services provider to the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.

Lawyers from Freshfields, both on secondment at the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) and in Freshfields’ offices, will be providing a range of legal advice to LOCOG to help deliver a successful Games in 2012.

G4S

Partnership Began: 2011

G4S Secure Solutions (UK) Limited is the Official Security Services Provider of London 2012.

G4S  are currently recruiting, training and managing the 10,000-strong security workforce that will be tasked with securing the Games alongside colleagues from the police and local authorities across all London 2012 competition and non-competition venues.

David Taylor-Smith, Regional CEO of G4S UK and Africa,, said: We have worked extremely hard with LOCOG, the Police, central government and the host venues and boroughs to develop a security proposal which will provide excellent security for the Games, whilst ensuring that spectators, competitors and providers of services to the Games can enjoy the spectacle of one of the greatest sporting events in the world.”

GSK

Partnership Began: 2009

GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) is the Official Laboratory Services Provider of London 2012.

GSK have provided facilities and equipment to enable Kings College London to operate a World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) accredited satellite laboratory unveiled in January this year

Over 6250 samples will be analysed throughout the Olympic and Paralympic Games, up to 400 each day which is more than at any other Games. The laboratory, which measures the size of seven tennis courts, will be in operation 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Over 1,000 LOCOG staff will work within the Anti-Doping process and a team of more than 150 anti-doping scientists will carry out the testing at the laboratory, led independently by Professor David Cowan from the Drug Control Centre at King’s College London.

Gymnova

Partnership Began: 2010

Gymnova is the Official Gymnastics Equipment Supplier of London 2012 and will provide all the equipment needed for the Gymnastics events at London 2012.

Gymnova is an approved supplier of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) and as well as providing equipment for the artistic, rhythmic and trampoline competitions, will also provide equipment for the training facilities.

Gymnova is a core company within the French ABEO group. As part of the deal, two of Gymnova’s sister companies in the group, O’Jump and ACMAN, will be providing the wrestling mats and podia for the staging of several sports.

Heathrow Airport

Partnership Began: 2011

Heathrow is the ‘Host Airport’ and official supplier to London 2012.

The Games will be a unique operational challenge for Heathrow. The day after the Closing Ceremony of the Olympic Games is set to be the airport’s busiest day ever.  218,000 bags are expected to leave the airport, compared to 160,000 on the previous busiest day. Around 15% of the bags will be oversize sporting equipment such as canoes, pole vaults or bikes which cannot be processed through normal baggage systems.

BAA Chief Executive Colin Matthews said: “London 2012 will be Heathrow’s greatest challenge. Every part of the airport is working together so we can give the world’s greatest athletes the world’s greatest welcome.”

Heineken UK

Partnership Began: 2011

Heineken is the Official Lager Supplier to London 2012.

The company’s flagship premium beer, Heineken will be the branded lager served at the Games and Heineken UK will have exclusive pouring rights for its portfolio of beer and cider brands at all London 2012 venues where alcohol is served.

It will also enjoy sponsorship and venue supply rights associated with the British Olympic Association, Team GB, the British Paralympic Association and the Paralympics GB team.

Holiday Inn

Partnership Began: 2009

Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express are the Official Hotel Services Provider to London 2012

Holiday Inn, part of InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), are to provide LOCOG with additional capability and expertise in the accommodation sector, supplying experienced personnel to assist in the planning and operation of the Olympic Village.

Holiday Inn, along with other hotels in the IHG stable, will also provide accommodation and meeting rooms for LOCOG and its partners’ as it builds towards the Games.

John Lewis

Partnership Began: 2010

John Lewis is the Official Department Store Provider.

TJohn Lewis shop on Oxford Street and the forthcoming shop adjacent to the Olympic Park at Stratford (due to open in 2011) are set to become key retail outlets for Games-related merchandise. These shops will give back all net profit to LOCOG on London 2012 merchandise sold.

McCann Worldgroup

Partnership Began: 2009

McCann Worldgroup is the Official Marketing Services Provider of London 2012.

Led by McCann London the agency is working with the marketing team at LOCOG to develop the overall look and feel of the Games. They are the first company  to be a sponsor in the marketing services category for an organising committee.

Mondo

Partnership Began: 2010

Mondo is the Official Supplier of Sports Flooring and Equipment for London 2012.

At Games-time, Mondo will supply the track and warm up track for the Olympic Stadium, athletics equipment such as hurdles, high jump bars and hammer cages, surface or sprung flooring for as many as ten different Olympic and Paralympic sports disciplines including Basketball, Table Tennis, Wheelchair Basketball and Goalball.

Mondo has supplied the Olympic Games since 1976.

Nature Valley

Partnership Began: 2011

Nature Valley is the no.1 crunchy cereal bar brand in the UK & Ireland,is the official cereal snack bar supplier of London 2012.

The cereal bar will be sold at London 2012 concessions within venues and distributed to athletes, Games-time workforce and volunteers.

General Mills UK Managing Director Jim Moseley said: “Nature Valley is driving accelerated growth in the cereal bar category and we are proud to play our part in the 2012 Olympic Games.

Next

Partnership Began: 2010

Clothing chain, Next are providing uniforms for technical officials at the Games and suits for London organising committee staff.

It has also designed opening and closing ceremony outfits and formal suits for Team GB athletes as well as supply linen for the athletes’ village.

Nielsen

Partnership Began: 2009

Nielsen Company specialising in global marketing and research is the official Market Research Services provider of London 2012.

The Nielsen Company will undertake all of LOCOG’s market research services requirements, including developing a market research strategy, undertaking tracking studies and organising online panels and surveys.

Populous

Partnership Began: 2009

Populous is the Official Architectural and Overlay Design Services Provider of London 2012.

Populous (formerly HOK Sport) is leading the team comprising Allies & Morrison and Lifshutz Davidson Sandilands to deliver the project. The consortium is working with LOCOG’s Venue and Infrastructure team, which is responsible for installing overlay to existing and newly built venues to ensure that they are fit for purpose for the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. The consortium will provide design and drawing production services to support the development of these overlay designs for London 2012 venues.

Populous senior principal Jerry Anderson said: “We are very excited to be able to bring our Overlay design experience to this incredible global event, and also to support London in hosting what I believe will be a spectacular Olympic and Paralympic Games.”
