Sports betting firm Ladbrokes and Racing UK (RUK) have teamed up to launch a new streaming service allowing iPhone users to watch next week’s Cheltenham Festival live on their mobile phones.

Ladbrokes are the first firm to launch the service this week and will be the only bookmaker streaming live racing from all of RUK’s tracks, including Cheltenham.

For as little as a £1 (US$1.6) bet on their iPhone, customers can then select streaming of the race and enjoy the action from the comfort of the office or armchair. With only selected races available to terrestrial viewers, Ladbrokes customers will be able to enjoy all of the Festival action.

David Williams of Ladbrokes said: “Gloomy office IT firewalls have an annoying habit of blocking all the Festival fun. We’re unashamedly delighted to provide punters with a service that bypasses the kill-joys. Wherever you are, you now won’t miss a second of the live action from Cheltenham.”

The service is available via both the downloadable Native (App Store) iPhone App and the Ladbrokes Web App which is accessible by texting “mobile” to 86131.

“It’s a revolutionary offering. Those customers who aren’t lucky enough to be at the races can join in the fun – and their bosses will be none the wiser” added Williams.

Simon Brydon, Director of Business Development at Racing UK said: “The integration of our live iPhone streaming solution on a Bet-to-View basis was far more complex than our online services so we’re delighted Ladbrokes has provided the resources and know-how to make this work for their customers.

“It means Ladbrokes will be the only bookmaker able to stream all races live from the Cheltenham Festival on iPhone.

“Being able to place a bet via Ladbrokes iPhone service and then watch every race live in high-quality streaming is undoubtedly the future for the modern punter and racing fan who’s on the go.”
