PGA Tour Renew Strategic Relationship with SINA

The PGA Tour and SINA Corporation have renewed their partnership deal which will see SINA continue to produce and manage the PGA Tour website for Chinese users.

SINA have signed on for a further three years and will look after the Mandarin website.

As a part of the deal, price SINA will simulcast 12 live tournaments a year, capsule through to 2015, via SINA.com and the first cast will be this week’s World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship.

Luis Goicouria, PGA Tour Vice President of Digital Media Business Development and Operations said: “We are very excited about extending our partnership with SINA. Growing and serving the golf audience in China is a huge priority for the TOUR.

“Later this year, the TOUR will update its mobile and tablet apps to include Mandarin content for Chinese users, and SINA will play a key role.”

Charles Chao, Chairman and CEO of SINA added: “Golf continues to grow rapidly in China, and the PGA TOUR is the strongest golf brand in the world. We are very excited to continue our relationship with the PGA TOUR.”

SINA is an online media company that serves China and the global Chinese communities. Their original deal with the PGA Tour was struck in 2008.
