Manchester Phoenix Fold over Financial Issues

Premier League ice hockey outfit Manchester Phoenix have folded, after talks with a potential investor to ease the club’s financial predicament ended in failure.

The club had not competed in their native Manchester since 2015, having turned out in North Wales and Blackpool since vacating their former home.

Manchester Phoenix will leave the league immediately, with the former Premier League champions committing to paying outstanding wages to players and staff.
