Hyundai to Invest Further in Australian Grassroots Football

May 22, 2013

Car manufacturer Hyundai has been named the Football Federation of Australia (FFA) to become the organisation’s official grassroots partner.

The new ‘Share the Moment’ promotion will give fans the chance to win $10,000, which would be split between the winner and their grassroots club, and a Hyundai car.

The deal also continues the Korean compnay’s association with football in Australia. Hyundai is the title sponsor of the countrie’s leading football league and has also run the ‘Goals for Grassroots’ scheme since 2007, supporting local clubs with funding for equipment, ground maintenance and kit. The company has invested over $380,000 in the scheme to date.

FFA chief executive David Gallop said: “Without the commitment of Hyundai we would not have been able to increase the national fanbase and see the sport continue to thrive and grow.”

John Elsworth, chief operating officer Hyundai Motor Company Australia, added: “Today we celebrate the extension of a great partnership with the announcement of the appointment of Hyundai Motor Company Australia as FFA official grassroots partner.

“The ongoing support of the grassroots fans, players and the greater football community has seen this program develop into an integral part of the league, one which we are very proud to be a part of.”
