Dr. Tamas Ajan Re-Elected as Weightlifting President

Dr. Tamas Ajan has been re-elected as the President of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) after being in the post for 12 years.

The Hungarian defeated Antonio Urso to add four more years to his presidency.

Italian Urso heads the European Weightlifting Federation and was defeated by an undisclosed margin at a meeting in Moscow.

Dr. Ajan said: “I thank the support of those who voted for me and I extend my hand to those who didn’t. We have to be united and we have to work hard for the future of Weightlifting.”

It was the third time Ajan was re-elected as President of the IWF, look where he was the Secretary General between 1976-2000.
