The role

Since launching This Girl Can in 2015, Sport England has become renowned for developing effective and award-winning campaigns which help drive behaviour change.

Now experienced and skilled at developing a full range of campaigns, partnerships and activations to encourage more people to live more active lives, this is an exciting time to join the team.

You will be tasked with inspiring and leading the Marketing and Partnerships team of c. 10 people, as well as working across teams both internally and working with partners externally to plan and deliver high quality marketing campaigns and grassroots movements. You will also become a trusted advocate across sport in England on how to use effective campaigning to change behaviours and attitudes towards sport and physical activity.

While activity levels are recovering from the impact of the pandemic, never has there been a more important time to lead this work.

This includes current campaigns This Girl CanWe are Undefeatable and Join the Movement, all of which have had a significant impact on the audiences and groups which they seek to primarily support, and the consideration of other new campaigns, partnerships and activations in the years ahead.

The postholder will be responsible for the overall planning and delivery of Sport England’s entire campaign portfolio and all of the activations, partnerships and projects that are developed alongside, to support the behaviour change journey. A This Girl Can activation example is Studio You, a free Netflix-style PE resource for teachers to inspire disengaged teenage girls, through fun lesson experiences.

With a new and ambitious strategy to deliver, this position will play a key role in ensuring that campaigns heavily contribute to the plan’s central ambition, which is to tackle inequalities so that everyone can feel able to take part in sport and physical activity.

Day to day tasks:

  • Work with teams across Sport England to understand their vision and objectives, and identify and co-build marketing strategy and plans eg sport workforce, health inequalities, volunteering etc that deliver against them. Encouraging teams to set high aspirations, be bold and take risks to do things differently and innovatively.
  • Work effectively as a member of Sport England’s Senior Leadership team which is leading the change that the organisation is currently going through to centrally define delivery priorities and change in culture
  • Work closely with the Executive Director for Digital, Marketing and Comms (DMC) and other senior leaders in the DMC team to build the vision and priorities for the DMC directorate and support our people in their roles.
  • Lead the Marketing and Partnerships sub-team of 10 of the Directorate to build capability, effective collaboration across the team and to unblock any issues
  • Secure senior stakeholder buy-in and alignment to resourcing and plans with presentations, writing papers etc
  • Co-lead on a number of major behaviour change campaigns, innovations, activations and brand partnerships eg This Girl Can, We Are Undefeatable, 10 minute shake ups, sector organisations upskilling eg Digital Marketing Hub, and development of new campaigns. This would involve:
    • Building a cross-functional team from across Sport England, with select external partners in the sport sector and with cutting edge marketing agencies, bringing together diverse expertise to solve some of the biggest issues the sport sector needs to address
    • Based on solid insight, co-defining the strategy, as well as resourcing and delivery model
    • Enable teams to develop best practice marketing, work in the most effective way and draw in the necessary expertise from specialist teams as required
    • Inspiring teams with what we can learn from outside of the sector to enhance our approach eg from political campaigning, from grassroots movements like climate change or from approaches from Fast Moving Consumer Goods.
  • Manage and coach 3x direct reports
  • Review and evaluate performance of plans, adapting as required and ensuring learning is reapplied across the team.

 Essential Skills and Experience

  • Relevant experience of operating at a senior level.
  • Previous experience of successfully managing a multi-functional team to a delivery timeline
  • Previous experience of appointing and managing external agencies to achieve agreed targets
  • Proven track record of strategic planning, delivery and data led reporting within a brand/marketing environment.
  • A previous track record of the ability to attract, retain and motivate people.
  • A proven ability to communicate strongly and explain ideas in a meaningful and engaging way to both internal and external customers
  • A previous track record of being results oriented and delivering against agree targets
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of consumer behaviour and attitudes and the effects and applications of a full range of media channels
  • Understanding of insight driven and relationship marketing
  • Experienced in communication, influencing and advocacy both internally up to board level and with external stakeholders or partners

The Digital, Marketing and Communications Directorate is responsible for setting the strategic direction of digital content, marketing, campaigns, and communications.

With expertise in commercial partnerships, social media, editorial, public affairs, consumer innovation, internal communications, and PR and media, the team provides functional expertise, both within Sport England and across our network of partners and customers.

Overview of the role

We’re looking for someone to take on the challenge of helping activate our brand across Sponsorship and PR as we move into the most exciting period in Vanarama’s history as we become part of the AutoTrader family. We need a creative, strategic, and highly organised person with a passion for football, content, and brand activation. This role sits across both football and automotive so will offer great variety. You’ll be tasked with growing our authority in electric vehicle leasing for organic search by building a strong digital PR strategy. Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage, lead, and develop the marketing team resources & functions. The team consists of three direct reports (Sponsorship Manager, Sports Marketing Manager, Senior Brand Manager) & two indirect reports (PR Manager & Social Media Specialist).
  • Support and drive market expansion projects in partnership with an internal cross-functional team.
  • Provide insights and feedback to creative team regarding specific touchpoint needs to ensure relevant content are developed for each initiative to ensure an inspirational and engaging communication towards our community.
  • Define and agree campaign objectives and KPIs per initiative including but not limited to brand awareness and positioning, traffic and revenue, new customer acquisition and retention/loyalty/frequency of purchase.
  • Keep on top of consumers and market insights, trends, and development on an ongoing basis. Consider different customer segments in marketing – always asking who we are speaking to and how. Think global, act local.
  • Work with external agencies & partners to support our brand & business needs (creative agencies, material partners, production companies etc.)
  • Manage & track overall brand marketing budget.
  • Together with VP Marketing – develop and execute overall brand marketing long term strategies, and short-term tactical plans to support our business goals.
  • Own seasonal go-to-market strategies for the brand marketing organic and bought media touchpoint and ensure its in line with the overall business strategy and our brand positioning.
  • Ensure x-functional alignment by actively partaking in the new product development (NPD) process, from idea to execution.
  • Delivery of impactful and effective brand marketing campaigns, on time and within budget.
  • Develop key cities specific plans and activations that drives brand awareness and consumer engagement.

As a Director, Club Marketing you will work with assigned Major League Baseball Club personnel and internal departments within Major League Baseball to implement and optimize the overall performance of MLB Marketing Initiatives at the local level as well as Club initiatives to grow the game of baseball through both digital and non-digital consumer touchpoints.

Job Responsibilities

  • Acts as a primary liaison between assigned Clubs, MLB Marketing personnel, and various MLB business stakeholders

Job Requirements And Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • An individual with ten (10) or more years marketing management experience, working in either sports, media, entertainment or related field is preferred
  • Project management and/or client relations experience required
  • Understanding of the Interactive Media landscape strongly preferred – e-commerce, marketing, sponsorship, subscription products, social media platforms
  • Ability to develop cordial, professional relationships with all level of Club personnel and MLB staff
  • Detail-oriented, organized and excellent verbal and written communication skills

About the Company:

Airspeeder is an upcoming, next-generation motorsport series for electric flying vehicles. It has been described as the “Formula 1 of the skies”. The series, founded by technology and space entrepreneur, Matt Pearson will be powered by performance eVTOL manufacturer Alauda.

Alauda Aeronautics provides teams with identical craft, known as ‘Speeders’. Teams will be given the freedom to set drivers and create strategy. Races will take place in remote locations across the globe. The speeders are manned racing electric quadcopters that can fly at speeds of up to 200km/h. The races will fuse mixed reality with live telemetry to create an air sport nobody has ever seen before.

At a time of significant digital growth and expansion for both the Airspeeder sport and the Alauda Aeronautics manufacturer of flying vehicles, we’re looking for a talented, highly motivated, proactive and resourceful individual, with a deep knowledge and experience of social media platform growth to join our team in London. This role requires someone with ambition to set the mark within both sport and social media.

Job Description:

As Head of Social Media for the group you will set the social media vision and lead a growing global team of talented Social Content Specialists to successfully manage and develop the social content output for the three brands, ensuring it aligns with the overarching strategy and meets KPIs.

You will also be the main point of contact for some of our biggest clients and responsible for developing image, video, mixed reality media campaigns across multiple channels.

Reporting to the Head of Media, you will work collaboratively to consistently evolve our social content (owned and paid) business strategy.

Developing and expanding relationships with partners, including broadcasters, producers and platforms would have to be within your capability in this role.

The ideal candidate will have strong metric results across a number of social platforms for an existing sports rights holder, and a proven track record of successful campaigns devised and launched.

About You:
