About the job

As a Director, Club Marketing you will work with assigned Major League Baseball Club personnel and internal departments within Major League Baseball to implement and optimize the overall performance of MLB Marketing Initiatives at the local level as well as Club initiatives to grow the game of baseball through both digital and non-digital consumer touchpoints.

Job Responsibilities

  • Acts as a primary liaison between assigned Clubs, MLB Marketing personnel, and various MLB business stakeholders
  • Work day to day with assigned Clubs to build a strong and collaborate relationship that enables the League office to strategize, service and assist the Clubs in their localized Marketing efforts
  • Oversee the activation of Club specific Marketing Campaigns tied to driving ticket sales, fan growth and engagement, and brand awareness
  • Project manage Club specific initiatives in the digital landscape
  • Provide guidance on Club needs and points of view at the league level as it relates to global Marketing Initiatives
  • Optimize overall performance of specific Club sites, emails and app as it relates to increasing engagement, audience and revenue generation
  • Fulfill other project responsibilities as assigned by Marketing Executives
  • Manage a team of 5-10 website content producers
  • Provide sound feedback and suggestions for enhancing the user experience for the club.com platform to further MLB and Club Marketing priorities and goals
  • Work cross functionality to coordinate, promote and implement league level programs and initiatives with Clubs

Job Requirements And Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • An individual with ten (10) or more years marketing management experience, working in either sports, media, entertainment or related field is preferred
  • Project management and/or client relations experience required
  • Understanding of the Interactive Media landscape strongly preferred – e-commerce, marketing, sponsorship, subscription products, social media platforms
  • Ability to develop cordial, professional relationships with all level of Club personnel and MLB staff
  • Detail-oriented, organized and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive attitude, with the ability to think outside the box in order to achieve goals
  • Ability to multitask and work under strict deadlines
  • Engaging, enthusiastic communicator who can comfortably receive and deliver feedback
  • Ability to inspire and motivate others. Delegates effectively and promotes execution through direct and indirect influencing.
  • Familiarity and interest with the game of baseball
  • Flexible schedule: available weekends and late nights throughout the year, as needed.
