Hyundai Remains Title Sponsor of Season Opening PGA Tour Event at Kapalua Resort

Hyundai Motor Co., arthritis the country’s largest automobile maker, cheap have renewed their title sponsorship of the season opening 2012 PGA Tour event at the Kapalua Resort which begins this week.

The company announced Thursday that it was again named the official sponsor of the U.S. PGA Tour opener, allergy which is scheduled to tee off on Friday in Hawaii.

The traditional first event of the PGA Tour named the Hyundai Tournament of Champions has been played at Kapalua Resort on the island of Maui since 1999.

The tournament has had several title sponsors, and Hyundai Motor Co. took over the title sponsorship in 2011.

Under the sponsorship deal, Hyundai Motor provides its luxury models, the Equus and the Genesis as the tournament’s official vehicles, and shows its brand logos on the scoreboard and golf balls.

“The company believes its sponsoring of the event will help improve its brand image in the U.S. and the world,” the company said in a statement.

With offering a total purse of $5.6 million, the season-opening Hyundai Tournament of Champions will feature 28 winners from the 2011 season on the PGA Tour, including Korean golf star Choi Kyung-ju and defending champion Jonathan Byrd.

But last year’s U.S. Open champion Rory McIlroy, the two-time winner and world No. 1 Luke Donald and British Open champion Darren Clarke opted not to participate in the season opener.

NBA’s Deron Williams Becomes New Spokesperson for Red Bull

Deron Williams, unhealthy considered to be one of the best Point Guards in the NBA, has become the new ambassador for Red Bull.

Williams, who has been on the Nike roster for his entire NBA career, has now added Red Bull to his roster. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Williams will appear in marketing, including an initial teaser spot that follows “D-Will” from the game on Monday night at The Prudential Center, the Nets’ current home arena in Newark, NJ, to a celebrity party in Manhattan’s SoHo District inn New York.

“Even though the original plan of checking out the skyline from a heli didn’t go as planned, it was an incredible night out,” said Williams. “I had a fun ride into Manhattan, and my friends at Red Bull threw a great party to welcome me to the family.”

Williams joins an increasingly large roster of athletes sponsored by Red Bull, including NBA players Blake Griffin and Rajon Rondo, MLB players Tim Lincecum and Jimmy Rollins, NFL players Reggie Bush, and DeMarcus Ware, and a host of others.

Leading Croatian Newspaper Sportske Novosti Sponsors Futsal Euro 2012

Sportske Novosti, one of Croatia’s leading newspapers, has inked a deal to become a national sponsor of UEFA Futsal Euro 2012 which gets under way later this month.

Motorcross Racer Chad Reed Signs Deal with Lubrication Product Maker

Motorcross and Supercross racer, Chad Reed and his company, TwoTwo Motorsports, have announced a new deal with Bel-Ray, makers of lubrication products for motorcycles.

The new two-year agreement will ensure that Reed and TwoTwo use Friction Modified Thumper Racing Oil,Thumper Gear Saver Transmission Oil, Blue Tac Chain Lube, and 6 in 1 Multi Purpose Lubricant in all of their racing and test bikes. Reed will be competing in AMA Supercross, which kicks off this weekend, along with AMA Motocross this season.

Jennifer Liquori, chief operating officer for Bel-Ray, said in a statement, said: “Chad Reed sets the standard for racing and what it means to compete at the highest level. Qantas to Remain Official Airline of Cricket Australia

Qantas, Australia’s national airline has renewed its sponsorship of Cricket Australia for a further four years.

The agreement sees Qantas remain the official airline and sponsor of Australia’s national cricket governing body.

Cricket Australia chief executive James Sutherland said: “We are so pleased to welcome Qantas into the Cricket Australia family. The partnership makes perfect sense with the Spirit of Australia joining forces with our much loved sport.

“This partnership will ensure the Australian Cricket teams have the best travel experience both in Australia and internationally. The Australian cricket teams and support staff spend much of their year traveling, and we are thrilled to be traveling on Qantas and enjoy their high level of service.”

USA Cycling has secured Grape-Nuts, a heart healthy cereal made by Post Foods LLC, as an official sponsor of the sport’s national governing body.

Along with supporting the development of America’s next generation of World Champions and Olympic medalists, this partnership allows Grape-Nuts to share its nutritional values firsthand with high-performance athletes and the entire cycling community.

Grape-Nuts will activate its sponsorship through multiple USA Cycling initiatives starting in January and spanning through late October. They will be present at 17 national championship events with activations ranging from sponsor branding on the jerseys of the national champions to sampling of Grape-Nuts cereal for athletes and attendees. Additionally, Grape-Nuts will be featured on the jerseys of the USA Cycling national teams during international competition including the World Championships. Pro Lacrosse Team Becomes First Team in America to Use Twitter Handles on Shirts

The Philladelphia Wings, bronchi a National Lacrosse League team, prostate will become the first professional sports team in America to put twitter handles on their jerseys for their upcoming game against Buffalo Bandits on Feb. 12.

They have followed in the footsteps of Spanish top division soccer team Valencia and Mexico’s First Division soccer team, Jaguares de Chiapas who used twitter handles as shirt sponsors.

The Wings are also requiring that all their players maintain a Twitter account to help promote the team.They will be holding a formal Twitter training session prior to the start of the season.

Gallagher Group Gets Naming Rights to Maidstone United Stadium in Six-Figure Deal

English Ryman League team Maidstone United have agreed a six-figure naming rights deal for their new stadium with the Gallagher Group.

The Gallagher Group, one of the major investors in the project and the firm behind much of the work already carried out on the Whatman Way site, is investing £150,000 ($234,670) in a five-year deal which will see the ground named The Gallagher Stadium.

The Gallagher Group is the largest privately-owned building, civil engineering, quarrying and property business in the county.

Gallagher Group chairman Pat Gallagher said: “Maidstone United’s homecoming is a momentous event for both the club and the town. We are proud that we have been able to help the owners get the project off the ground and it is a wonderful gesture for the club to put our name to the new stadium.

“There is real excitement building ahead of the stadium opening and it will bring a great lift to the town.”

Maidstone United co-owner Terry Casey added: “Maidstone United is extremely fortunate to have such a loyal and generous supporter as Pat Gallagher and the Gallagher Group.

“We are delighted with the company’s support and look forward to working with them to complete the stadium in time for our proposed first pre-season game.”

The opening game – which will take place on a hi-tech 3G pitch – is planned for Saturday, July 14.
