US Sailing and Sperry Top-Spider Continue Sponsorship Agreement

Global nautical performance and lifestyle brand, Sperry Top-Sider, have renewed their sponsorship agreement with US Sailing.

Sperry Top-Spider will continue as the official footwear provider for the national governing body in the United States and will become the title sponsor of the US Sailing team in April.

The apparel company will supply products to sailors across the team and will become involved in events such as the US Sailing National Championship and the US Sailing Road Show.

Jack Giehart, Executive Director at US Sailing said: “Sperry is a pioneer in developing outstanding footwear for sailors, and have a long history of exceptional commitment to our sport.

“We are very excited to extend our partnership with Sperry, and look forward to the energy and insight they bring to our members, events and programmes.”

Craig Reingold, the Sperry Top-Sider President, added: “By continuing our support of US Sailing – from its grassroots efforts to its elite athletes – we are ensuring proper investment in growing the sport of sailing.

“As inventor of the world’s first boat shoe in 1935, Sperry Top-Sider is a brand with a rich heritage in sailing, and it is essential for us to invest in the future of the sport.”

London Irish Announce Concern Worldwide as Official Charity

London Irish have announced the international humanitarian organisation, Concern Worldwide, as their Official Charity Partner for the forthcoming season.

The pair will work together to raise money for the charity and increase their profile across the world.

London Irish are a club steeped in history and was originally established as a home away from for the Irish contingent of London.

The club felt that partnering with Ireland’s largest aid agency was a “natural” step forward for the Club.

Andy Martin, London Irish CEO, said: “We are thrilled to be working with a major Irish charity and contributing to such an important and worthy cause.

“Concern Worldwide are working tirelessly to tackle poverty and hunger in the poorest parts of the world and we are hopeful, with our support, they can continue this vital work and increase the number of people they reach.”

Tom Arnold, CEO, Concern Worldwide added: “Concern is delighted to be partnering with such a great sporting team as London Irish. The club has a strong following internationally but firmly retains its Irish roots, and so it is with Concern.

A number of the players have also expressed their satisfaction with the news. Captain Bryan Evans said: “With our heritage, it seems apt that this year we are supporting a charity that has Irish roots. We have a terrific and loyal supporter base and I’m sure the positive change Concern makes in the world will speak to their charitable nature.”

The partnership will launch today, Friday 24 August, at the climax of the club’s pre-season friendly match against Munster in Musgrave Park, Co. Cork.

Buffalo Bills Secure Jani-King as Official Cleaning Company

Jani-King International, ambulance the commercial cleaning franchise company has formed a partnership to become the Official Cleaning Company of the Buffalo Bills.

The new partnership allows Jani-King to provide services and sponsorship to the National Football League (NFL) side’s organisation and the Ralph Wilson Stadium. 

Jani-King franchisees will clean the administrative offices, prostate practice facility and stadium including the suites and club levels throughout the season.

Andrew Espitia, Executive Director of National Accounts, Jani-King corporate said: “The Buffalo Bills are a staple in their city and throughout Western New York.

“There is a lot of excitement among our franchisees in Buffalo and we are proud to have the opportunity to clean Ralph Wilson Stadium.”

In conjunction with the cleaning agreement, Jani-King will promote its brand through a team sponsorship which includes official designation and use of brand marks in the region.

Santander Secures Sponsorship of Recopa Sul-Americana

Santander has become the new sponsor of the Recopa Sul-Americana, story the soccer game between the winner of the Copa Libertadores and the Copa Bridgestone Sul-Americana.

The deal means that the bank has secured the naming rights of the tournament, allergist with the cup now called the Recopa Santander Sul-Americana.

The tournament has a home and away format and will feature Brazilian side Santos facing Universidad de Chile.

Santander’s deal will run for the next three years and will allow the company to hold a strong presence within Latin American football.

The bank is one of the South American Football Confederation’s (CONMEBOL) main partners. Santander was also a top sponsor for the Copa America in 2011.

Moving Digital Adverts to be Trialled during England Cricket Match

Dynamic digital adverts will scroll around the cricket field for the first time when England’s cricketers take on South Africa.

The England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) will begin the trial in Cardiff on Friday 24 August, price viagra although the ads will not move when the game is in play.

When a bowler begins his run-up, buy the ads will stop and they will only resume again once the ball is dead, to avoid distracting the players.

Other ECB partners who will be displayed across Friday and Saturday include NatWest, Brit Insurance, Laithwaite’s, Stowford Press, TM Lewin, Friends Life and Marston’s.

The match will take place at Glamorgan’s SWALEC stadium in Cardiff and 16,000 fans are expected to attend.

A similar trial at the SWALEC was completed earlier in the season, but only around a fifth of the perimeter.

Sponsorship Deals Agreed for Bundesliga Clubs

Three teams from the Bundesliga, pharmacy Germany’s premier soccer league, have agreed new sponsorship deals.

Eintracht Frankfurt, Hamburger SV and Bayer Leverkusen have all renewed or started new deals with various firms.

Frankfurt has renewed their three-year partnership with supermarket chain Rewe, which will run until 2013.

Rewe will have visible branding all over the club’s home ground, the Commerzbank Arena and will retain a ticketing allocation to the side’s home games.

Leverkusen’s deal with Gaffell, the brewery, has been renewed up until the end of the 2012/13 Bundesliga campaign.

The deal between the two started in 1997 and allows the company to sell their non-alcoholic drinks at the club’s home ground.

JC Decaux, the advertising company, is set to be the Communications Partner of Hamburger SV, where they will run a campaign to raise awareness of the team’s activities.

Real Madrid Partner with Yamaha Thailand

Liga BBVA reigning champions Real Madrid have confirmed a sponsorship deal with Yamaha in Thailand, viagra worth 250 million baht (US$8 million).

The partnership will see the automotive company become an official partner of the side, salve although the rights will be restricted to Thailand.

The three-year deal is the second Thailand-based company to sponsor the Spanish side, after Thai Beverage, producers of Chang Beer.

Optimum Nutrition Join Forces with Saracens

Sports nutrition brand Optimum Nutrition (ON) has joined forces with Aviva Premiership rugby club Saracens on a supplier deal.

ON will provide the side with sports nutrition products as well as work closely with the performance team to develop a nutrition programme.

The north-London based side kick off their Aviva Premiership campaign on 1 September against London Irish.

OMEGA Renews Sponsorship Deal for European Masters

OMEGA has extended its title partnership agreement with golf’s European Masters tournament through to 2017.

The Swiss watch company has been the title sponsorship of Europe’s oldest golf tournament since 2001 and Stephen Urguhart, bronchi President of Omega was happy to renew the deal.

Urguhart said: “We are proud to sponsor such an esteemed and important tournament, and all of us at OMEGA look forward to having top players from around the world play golf in our beautiful home country.

“OMEGA’s continued role as title sponsor of the European Masters further establishes our brand as a driving force in golf, which is also supported by our partnership with The PGA of America and the forthcoming Ryder Cup in the US.”

The OMEGA European Masters starts on 30 August and ends on 2 September.

University of Dayton and PNC Bank Renew Sponsorship

The athletics programme at the University of Dayton will continue to be sponsored by PNC Bank for another three years, there through to the end of the 2014/15 academic year.

The partnership between the bank and the university was first struck at the beginning of the 2000/01 academic season.

Dave Melin, Regional President of PNC Dayton said: “This partnership goes beyond just athletics. It speaks to the very essence of both the university and the Bank.

“We are proud to play a part in enabling the University of Dayton to continue its legacy of success and commitment to the community.”

The Bank is part of Pittsburgh-based PNC Financial Services Group, the second-largest bank in the Dayton market.
