Ryo Ishikawa to Endorse Callaway Golf

Callaway Golf Company has signed Ryo Ishikawa to a multi-year contract.

Ishikawa, site a ten-time winner on the Japanese Tour by the age of 21, professional buy joins Callaway as a full staff professional and to play the Company’s cutting-edge equipment, clinic including its new RAZR Fit Xtreme Driver and the Odyssey putters Ishikawa has relied on throughout his career, including nine of his professional victories. Beyond the equipment, the Saitama, Japan native will wear Callaway-branded apparel, caps, gloves and footwear.

In May of 2007, when Ishikawa was just 15 years and eight months old, he became the youngest golfer to win a men’s tournament on the Japan Golf Tour, winning the Munsingwear Open KSB Cup. Since then his rise to golf stardom in Japan has been swift and steady. Ishikawa turned professional in 2008 and by the end of that season, he became the youngest player to break into the top 100 of the Official World Golf Rankings. He went on to dominate the 2009 season in Japan. With four wins on Tour, he was showered with accolades, including the leading money winner on Tour and the Japan GTO MVP. In September of that year, Ishikawa became the youngest golfer to ever reach the top 50 on the Official World Golf Rankings.

This follows Panasonic not renewing their sponsorship of Ishikawa.

South African Squash Star Steven Coppinger Joins Mantis

South African number one squash player, pills Steven Coppinger has announced a new partnership with UK squash brand MANTIS.

The five time South African National title winner and world No. 23 will be using the MANTIS Power 110 racket when he kicks off 2013 PSA tournaments in January with the new MANTIS Tour response string in the rackets.

Coppinger, who resides in Cape Town, said: “I am delighted to have joined the MANTIS family and look forward to a long and positive relationship.

SUGOI Named Official Technical Apparel Sponsor of Cannondale Pro Cycling

SUGOI Performance Apparel, a brand of Dorel Industries, announced today that it will join the UCI’s Cannondale Pro Cycling Team as the Official Technical Apparel Sponsor for the 2013 season.

The brand will design the official team kits, including a pro jersey and high performance cycling bib short, with the brand’s award-winning RS chamois.

Surridge Sports Signs New Kit Deal with Netherlands Cricket

The Royal Dutch Cricket Board (KNCB) today announced an extended sponsorship deal with kit Supplier Surridge Sports.

The deal which runs for 3 years to the end of 2015 includes fully sponsored clothing for the Mens National Team in the event that it qualifies for the 2014 T20 World Cup as well as the 2015 World Cup.

Surridge will continue to supply clothing for the Dutch Lions and Lionesses, pills as well as replica kit and team wear sales for clubs schools and other organisations. Under the terms ofthe deal Surridge will also offer a full range of cricket equipment, medic coaching equipment and balls, all of which will be available through the on-line portal with secure payments provided by Paypoint.

UBS Sponsors Jersey Regatta

The organisers of the combined yacht clubs’ Jersey Regatta have announced that the Island’s flagship sailing event is to be sponsored by UBS in 2013.

The fourteenth Regatta, held in September, saw well over one hundred boats competing in what was the most successful Regatta ever. In welcoming the new sponsor on board, Regatta chairman Bill Harris said: “The arrival of UBS on the Island’s sailing scene is an exciting development and one that is certain to see this leading Channel Islands event continue to flourish both locally and nationally. Scheduled for 13th-15th September, the Jersey Regatta takes place off the south coast of the Island and is scheduled to provide three days of racing for cruiser, sportsboat, dayboat, sport catamaran and dinghy classes, coupled with a lively social programme ashore.  The Island’s sailing community will be out in force, with sailors aged from 8 to 80+, to pit their wits and sailing skills against competitors from the neighbouring Channel Islands, the UK and France.

The International Triathlon Union (ITU) has announced its partnership with Chain Reaction Cycles for the 2013 ITU World Triathlon Series.

Chain Reaction Cycles, the world’s largest online bike store, will serve as ITU’s official retail performance partner.

“The ITU World Triathlon Series has seen astonishing growth year after year,” ITU President and IOC Member Marisol Casado said. “The 2013 season promises more thrilling ITU racing, which will culminate in London where we witnessed some of the most spectacular action in the history of our sport. Entering its fifth year in 2013, the ITU World Triathlon Series will showcase eight first-class events starting off in Auckland, New Zealand, followed by San Diego, Yokohama, Madrid, Kitzbühel, Hamburg, Stockholm and finishing with the World Triathlon Grand Final in Hyde Park, London. 

All elite women’s and men’s races will be broadcast live to an international TV audience of more than 160 countries, as well as streamed online. Each stage will also feature age-group races, enabling participation from triathletes on a global scale.

Adidas announced two new partnerships in the NBA by securing an endorsement deal with Washington Wizards point guard John Wall and also a presenting sponsorship deal with NBA London Live 2013.
