Yahoo! Ink Levi’s Stadium Agreement

The San Francisco 49ers have announced that Yahoo! will be the exclusive online sports content, social networking, and photo and video sharing partner for Levi’s Stadium and the San Francisco 49ers. 

As part of the 10-year agreement, set to begin in 2014 and run through the 2023 season, Yahoo! will play an essential role in enhancing the in-stadium entertainment experience with its popular photo and video sharing site, Flickr, and Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Football.

“The 49ers are thrilled to partner with Yahoo!, a locally-based, global brand that shares our vision for Levi’s Stadium,” said 49ers Chief Executive Officer Jed York. “Yahoo! is a tremendous example of Silicon Valley innovation at work. Their experience in servicing the fan and wealth of resources will serve integral roles as we strive to present an unparalleled experience to visitors of Levi’s Stadium.”

Yahoo! will receive entitlement and branding rights to the Fantasy Football lounge, and its two adjacent viewing platforms, located in the stadium’s suite tower, as well as integration into the in-stadium fan experience and broadcast and digital media. Throughout the stadium at various concourse booths, fans can use Flickr to upload their photos to the 49ers Flickr photo gallery with the chance to be featured on one of the big screens and be a part of the game.

Ultimate Sports Nutrition Gets Title Sponsorship to Bolton Arena

Ultimate Sports Nutrition (USN) has announced it has secured the title sponsorship to sports facility, pharmacy Bolton Arena.

The arena, pharmacy which was designed for Bolton Council and its partners Sport England and the Lawn Tennis Association, will be known as the USN Bolton Arena at the end of June.

USN will be working alongside Bolton Arena and its staff to provide nutritional support and education on relevant products to assist teams and coaching with all aspects of sports nutrition, with the aim of improving performance and getting the most out of participation.

As part of the deal the range of USN Energy Drinks will be available through the Arena cafe, vending machines and sports shops for sports participants and visitors to enjoy.

Exclusive USN and Bolton Arena incentives/giveaways will be run on a regular basis to offer customers and users of the venue a little something extra.

Most notably the 9,000 capacity Bolton Arena has hosted the Badminton tournament during the 2002 Commonwealth Games and is the home arena for boxer Amir Khan.

Nike Golf Signs Two New Chinese Ambassadors

Nike Golf has revealed two new ambassadors for its roster with the addition of China’s Hao-Tong Li and Xin-Jun Zhang.

In a multi-year agreement, Li and Zhang will represent the Swoosh in clubs, ball, footwear, glove, apparel, headwear and accessories.

From the Hunan Province in China, Li turned professional in 2011 at the age of 16. As an amateur, Li took home nine gold medals and six silver medals in the Asian games in various cities in China. He finished T21 in the 2011 One Asia Nanshan Masters and was named the Best Amateur Player. Li represented the Chinese National Team in 2010 and 2011. More recently, Li competed in this year’s Australian PGA Championship and the New Zealand PGA Championship where he finished T39 and T5, respectively.

From the Shanxi Province in China, 26-year old Zhang turned professional in 2010 at the age of 23. In 2007, he was selected to be a Chinese National Team member to represent China for international tournaments. When Zhang turned professional, he had a remarkable T13 finish in the 2011 Shanghai HSBC Championship. He won two gold medals and one silver medal for Chinese Professional Tournaments in 2011 and 2012.

Robert Griffin III to Help Endorse USAA’s Military Efforts

USAA announced that Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III will support its military appreciation efforts this year.

This agreement supports USAA’s Official Military Appreciation Sponsorship of the NFL and the Washington Redskins. The 2012 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year was born on a U.S. military base and grew up in military communities across the country as his parents served in the U.S. Army.

“Growing up as a military kid, I’m thankful for the values instilled in me by my parents like integrity, commitment and excellence,” Griffin said. “They help me every day – both on and off the field. It’s an honor to help USAA support and pay tribute to the military community.”

Griffin was born at Camp Lester Naval Hospital in Okinawa, Japan, and played high school football at Copperas Cove High School near Fort Hood, Texas. He won the 2011 Heisman Trophy while at Baylor University, was the No. 2 pick in the 2012 NFL draft and led the Washington Redskins to their first playoff berth since the 2007 season.

Stanford Hospital Named Official Physicians of San Jose Earthquakes

Major League Soccer (MLS) team, sickness San Jose Earthquakes announced today that the club has signed a partnership with Stanford Hospital & Clinics.

Through the partnership, rx Stanford Hospital & Clinics are now the official team physicians for the Earthquakes, as well as a commercial partner of the Earthquakes. Stanford is also now the title sponsor of the Earthquakes 5K/10K Challenge and Breast Cancer Awareness Night on Oct. 26.

Ospreys Retain Worthington’s Sponsorship

Welsh rugby union team, Ospreys have announced they have extended their ong-standing partnership with Worthington’s, the second oldest brewing company in the UK and part of the worldwide Molson Coors Group.

Worthington’s has been a commercial partner of the region since its inception in 2003 and has featured on the shirt since the 2006/07 season. 

The new three-year deal will see the Worthington’s logo remaining in the highly sought after slot across the shoulders of the famous Ospreys jersey until the summer of 2016, extending the relationship to 13 years.

The global brewing company also supports the Worthington’s 2003 Club, a dedicated area in the West Stand for Ospreys season members that operates pre and post match at every home game throughout the season.

Commenting on the extension of the partnership with the Ospreys, Molson Coors Regional Director, Diane Rees, said: “We are absolutely delighted to renew for a further three years our very successful partnership with the Ospreys. The Confederation of North, Central America and the Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) and its commercial agency, Traffic Sports, has announced a sponsorship agreement with State Farm, making them the Official Auto and Home Insurance Sponsor for the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Sri Lanka Tea Board to Sponsor National Cricket Team

Sri Lanka Tea Board has been revealed as the official main sponsor for the Sri Lanka Cricket Team’s foreign tours.

The sponsorship agreement which is worth Rs 530 million (US$9,185,416) will be for a period of 3 years.

“Sri Lankan Tea and the national cricket team has been able to bring honour and fame to the country. We are proud to sponsor Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) and we are thankful for the support given by Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage,” said Plantation Industries Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe.

“The Sri Lanka Cricket team is one of the most loved cricket teams in the world. Our aim is to regain the Cricket World Cup in 2015. By sponsoring the national team, Minister Samarasinghe took a challenging task and it was successful. “Ceylon Tea” will be the official sponsor for team when they play international matches abroad.

Penske Racing Renews Carlisle Sponsorship

Penske Racing have announced that it has extended its partnership with Carlisle Companies Incorporated through the 2016 season.

In addition to Carlisle’s continued support of the No. 2 Miller Lite Ford Fusion driven by 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Brad Keselowski, ambulance the new agreement will also include associate branding for the company on a Team Penske IZOD IndyCar Series car beginning in 2014.

Japanese electronics giant, sale ed Panasonic has announced they have become the Official Supplier of the 34th America’s Cup.

Panasonic will enhance the on-site fan experience with five large LED video boards and 85 flat panel televisions that will be placed throughout the America’s Cup Park and America’s Cup Village.
