BMW Secures European Tour Sponsorship Extension

German automobile manufacturer BMW has signed a four-year extension to its current deal with the European Tour, continuing its sponsorship of three branded events through to 2018.

The brand will continue their support for the flagship BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth, which is taking place this weekend over the West Course.

The other two tournaments are the BMW International Open in Germany and the BMW Masters in China – the latter being part of the Tour’s recently-created Final Series.

BMW will also continue to be the official car of the European Tour and remain a partner of The Ryder Cup.

Tour chief executive George O’Grady said: “Ever since we began our relationship with BMW, they have been a strong and trusted partner.

“This new agreement once again underlines the strength in our relationship and creates a platform for us to shape the future of the European Tour over the coming years.”

The BMW International Open will be staged for a 26th consecutive year in June when Ernie Els will defend his title at Gut Larchenhof in Cologne.

Mistic to Sponsor KVSH Racing’s Sebastien Bourdais at Indy 500

Mistic, generic an electronic cigarettes and vapor products manufacturer, is making its Indianapolis 500 debut as co-primary sponsor of KVSH Racing’s No. 11 car piloted by four-time Series Champion Sebastien Bourdais.

Qualifying in 17th position for the 98th running of the 200-lap race on May 25 with a four-lap average speed of 229.847 mph, Bourdais will be making his fourth appearance at the Indy 500, an event billed as the “greatest spectacle in racing.”

The 35-year-old Frenchman recently put on his strongest performance of the 2014 Verizon IndyCar Series season, finishing fourth in the inaugural Grand Prix of Indianapolis on the newly designed 2.439-mile, 14-turn Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course. Mistic is serving as the co-primary sponsor of the No. 11 car for both the 2014 and 2015 IndyCar Series seasons.

American Ethanol to be Presenting Sponsor of NASCAR’s Return to St. Louis

Gateway Motorsports Park announced today that American Ethanol will serve as the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series “Drivin’ for Linemen 200” official presenting sponsor.

The event marks NASCAR’s first visit to the St. Louis area since the 2010 racing season.

“We’re pleased to bring the farmers behind American Ethanol to Gateway Motorsports Park here in the heart of America’s corn country, order ” said Larry Hasheider, sales Okawville, Ill., farmer and chairman of the Illinois Corn Marketing Board. “This race provides a great way to remind race fans that they have a choice in fuel with more retailers offering higher ethanol blends like E15 and E85.” 

In 2010, NASCAR embraced the desire for greener, American-job-producing fuels when it announced its decision to move to an ethanol racing fuel called Sunoco Green E15 for NASCAR’s three national series. American Ethanol was established by Growth Energy in partnership with the National Corn Growers Association to increase the awareness of the reliability, performance capabilities and affordability of American-made ethanol. 

“NASCAR has driven more than 5.5 million miles on E15 and we hope that fans will make the connection that they can also choose E15 or another flex-fuel ethanol blend, like E85 for their own cars. It’s good for the environment, performs well, and saves money at the pump,” Hasheider added.

Racing stable Spindrift racing have announced Mirabaud (Gold Partner) and the watchmaker Zenith (Official Timekeeper) have committed as partners for three years with, from 2014, to sharing significant challenges on Lake Geneva and all around the Atlantic.

Mirabaud, the banking and financial group, also gives its name to the Bol d’Or Mirabaud, the headline regatta on Lake Geneva.

Acer Signs Marketing Deal with NBA in Philippines

The National Basketball Association (NBA) has struck a partnership with computer brand Acer for promotion in the Philippines.

Acer will be integrated into NBA media and events in the country, check including NBA TV, adiposity NBA.com Philippines and NBA 3X Philippines 2014. Acer in turn will feature the iconic basketball league in its retail promotions and contests.

The computer brand kicks off the deal by giving out free NBA laptop backpack upon the purchase of select Acer laptops to qualifying NBA fans and consumers until 30 June.

Triathlete Mary Beth Ellis Signs Endorsement Deal with Skins

BT Sport Expands Welsh Rugby Support with Scarlets, Ospreys, Blues & Dragons Sponsorship

BT Sport has announed today it has signed sponsorship deals with four Welsh rugby Regions – the Scarlets, anabolics | Ospreys, viagra Cardiff Blues and Newport Gwent Dragons.

The new multi-million pound agreement over three years is the largest joint sponsorship in the history of the four Regions.

The partnership will include a commitment to community development programmes in Wales that will see BT working closely with the Regions to link the Welsh national sport and its rugby role models with technology, education and community investment in sport.

The deal sees the BT Sport logo appear on three Welsh Regions’ jerseys for the next three seasons; on the front of the home and away shirts to be worn by Scarlets and Newport Gwent Dragons and on the front of the Ospreys’ home shirt and the back of their away kit, with the front of the Ospreys’ away shirt already secured with another partner. As a key sponsor, BT Sport’s brand will feature prominently in all the Welsh regions home grounds, within community activity and in regional rugby marketing materials.

And for the first time, the Cardiff Blues have agreed naming rights for their iconic home ground – now to be known as “BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park”. The Cardiff Blues shirt sponsorship continues with Airbus Group (previously EADS), with BT Sport becoming kit sponsor to Cardiff Blues Women’s Rugby.

ANZ Renews New Zealand Cricket Sponsorship

The Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited (ANZ) has signed a new three-year sponsorship deal with New Zealand Cricket.

ANZ will continue as the official bank of New Zealand Cricket, including the ANZ International Series.

ANZ has supported New Zealand Cricket for 15 seasons, making it one of the longest-running sport related sponsorships in New Zealand.

“We’ve enjoyed standing by the sport at all levels since 1999, and we’re extremely proud to be standing behind New Zealand’s favourite summer sport for the next three years,” said ANZ Chief Executive, David Hisco.
