UEFA set date for electing new President

UEFA have confirmed they will be electing a new president at their 12th Extraordinary Congress on 14th September.

It follows the departure of Michel Platini after he and Sepp Blatter were both found guilty of ethics violations and barred from the sport for eight years

In a statement, ed it was also announced that they would be electing an additional female member onto the FIFA Council.

The congress will take place in Athens at 10am and will be followed by a press conference.

The Congress will be streamed live on UEFA.org.
