Fujitsu and NEC Added to List of Tokyo 2020 Gold Partners

The Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee has agreed a deal with Fujitsu to become the latest Tokyo 2020 Gold Partner.

The information and communication technology (ICT) company has been named as the “Data Centre Hardware” provider of the Games.

Tokyo 2020 President Yoshiro Mori (pictured) said, advice “It is a great honour to welcome Fujitsu as a Tokyo 2020 Gold Partner. As one of Japan’s most prominent companies, the active involvement of Fujitsu will be essential for the successful delivery of the Games.”

Masami Yamamoto, President and Representative Director of Fujitsu, added: “It is a great pleasure to be able to support the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, as well as the efforts of all the athletes, as a Tokyo 2020 Gold Partner.

“As the data centre hardware partner, Fujitsu will contribute to the success of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games as part of the wider integrated Tokyo 2020 Games technology solution designed and managed by Worldwide Olympic Partner Atos.”

NEC Deal

The Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee have also confirmed a deal with NEC who become the third Gold Partner named this week.

The IT services provider has been designated the categories of “Specialist Public Safety Equipment & Software” and “Network Equipment” for the Games.

Yoshiro Mori, President of Tokyo 2020, added: “I am delighted to announce that we have concluded a contract with NEC, which will see the company become a Tokyo 2020 Gold Partner.

“The active participation of NEC – one of Japan’s leading companies – will be a major factor in ensuring the success of the Tokyo 2020 Games.

NEC President Dr Nobuhiro Endo said, “We are tremendously honoured to be selected as a domestic Gold Partner in two product categories (“Specialist Public Safety Equipment & Software” and “Network Equipment”) for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

“We hope the Games will become known as the greatest Olympics and Paralympics of all time.”
