iSportConnect speaks to Alen Paul Silverrstieen, CEO & President of Imagine AR, to hear more about their product, how it can be of benefit to sporting organisations, how the company is looking to widen its reach across sport and their future goals.
Firstly, can you provide us with some background on ImagineAR as a business for those who aren’t aware of it and tell us what makes ImagineAR unique?
ImagineAR is an “AR-as-a-Service” company providing a global fan engagement mobile platform providing sports team, leagues and federations the ability to deliver immersive and experiential AR experiences instantly to fan phones without any technical background or knowledge.
“The ImagineAR platform leverages patented cloud technology to dynamically create campaigns and activations which are experienced through mobile devices around the world.”

What does your product offer to sports teams, leagues, agencies and federations – can you explain some of the different services you can provide?

Who are some examples of people you work with around the world and how have they benefited from working with ImagineAR?
Some of our clients include the NBA’s Sacramento Kings, LaLiga’s Real Sociedad and Valencia CF, Club Atletico Mineiro in Brazil, some NFL Alumni, World Tens Rugby, GrubHub, and AT&T.
Our recent client, Club Atletico Mineiro in Brazil, has integrated the ImagineAR platform with their mobile app this summer and has been extremely successful with their recurring AR campaigns. The club’s initial AR campaigns experienced a 3000% increase in daily registrations in their mobile app.
Additionally, club social media posts were viewed 10,000 plus times within an hour of posting too. The Club initially focused on using Green Screen videos/photos of their key players which fans can view in their homes, take their own videos with the ‘AR players’, and share in social media.
How are you looking to expand your product offering?
ImagineAR is launching its new AR Cloud 2.0 Product this fall which includes an upgraded self-publishing campaign management dashboard and enhanced real-time data analytics.
Clients can manage all their AR immersive experiences leveraging any type of new or existing content including MP4, JPEG, FBX, OBJ, and more file types in an easy-to-use portal. The Integrated Reward Card Feature, which is simultaneously delivered with every AR campaign, includes new sweepstakes options, website landing page click-thru options, and digital collectibles/NFT integration.
“WebAR integrated with the ImagineAR platform will be available November 2021 allowing sports teams and organizations to use QR codes and existing webpages for ‘non-app’ AR experiences.”

How much potential does AR have in continuing to evolve in order to create further new options for fan engagement and other sectors?
In the new GlobalData Thematic Research Report published this month (September 2021), The AR market, worth $7bn in 2020, will generate revenues of $152bn by 2030. This forecast for significant growth demonstrates an opportunity for sports teams and leagues to start delivering their AR campaigns today to stay ahead of this major growth curve and take the lead uniquely engaging their fans to build community and drive new revenue streams.
“Immersive AR campaigns integrated within a team/league mobile app will further grow daily app usage and significantly increase revenue activation opportunities.”
With billions of mobile phones around the world, sports organizations can interact with existing and new fans regardless of their geographic location. Immersive AR campaigns integrated within a team/league mobile app will further grow daily app usage and significantly increase revenue activation opportunities as well as deliver real time data analytics.
What are your goals for the company over the next 12 months?
ImagineAR is currently offering no money upfront, revenue share multi-year license programs to sports team and leagues who have been suffering major revenue loss due to Covid this past year. Our top goal is to become the global leader in AR fan engagement and activation in 2022 by partnering with teams and leagues that are successfully creating major new revenue streams with ImagineAR. Hopefully, iSportConnect members research augmented reality and related case studies to leverage this fast-growing technology to grow new revenue channels quickly.
