StubHub Becomes Official Fan to Fan Ticket Marketplace of Philadelphia 76ers

November 15, 2012

StubHub, the world’s largest ticket marketplace, has announced a multi-year partnership to become the Official Fan to Fan Ticket Marketplace of the Philadelphia 76ers.

Through existing relationships with Paciolan, a leading provider of ticketing, marketing, and fundraising solutions to live entertainment organizations, StubHub and the 76ers will provide fans with a safe, transparent, and guaranteed secondary marketplace for fans to buy and sell tickets. The 76ers become StubHub’s first integrated NBA partner.

“We look forward to a long-term relationship with StubHub, one that we believe will benefit our season ticket holders immensely,” said Sixers CEO and Co-Owner Adam Aron. “As the industry leader in secondary sales, the security and convenience StubHub provides is unmatched. We pride ourselves on providing top-notch products and service, and this is a fantastic addition to our offerings.”

“We share a similar fan-focused philosophy with the Philadelphia 76ers and together, we will provide a best-in-class experience for loyal season ticket holders and casual fans alike,” said Chris Tsakalakis, President of StubHub. “StubHub provides fans with a transparent and managed marketplace, allowing them convenience, security and the highest levels of customer service when buying and selling tickets.”

Paciolan, along with their sister company New Era Tickets, offers software integration with StubHub to enhance the overall fan experience. In the near future, whenever a fan purchases 76ers tickets from StubHub, Paciolan re-issues a completely new barcode, cancelling the old barcode and marking a seamless exchange of tickets. Combined with StubHub’s FanProtect Guarantee, this new product integration presents 76ers fans with complete protection from fraud and a stress-free purchasing process when buying tickets online.

“We’re excited to partner with StubHub and the Philadelphia 76ers to provide their fans with a fully integrated ticket resale solution,” said Dave Butler, chief executive officer of Paciolan. “This provides 76ers season ticket holders with an easy way to sell unused tickets, and provides fans looking to buy tickets with access to guaranteed valid tickets, as well as an exceptional buying experience including convenient, digital delivery.”

Kicking off the 2012-2013 season, StubHub marketing assets will be highly visible, including: courtside signage at the Wells Fargo Center, radio live reads, unique hospitality assets for StubHub rewards members and an in-game feature. StubHub will have online placements on 76ers.com, and will also have a prominent place within social media.
