SportAccord World Combat Games to Reach Global Audience with Extensive TV Coverage

The 2013 SportAccord World Combat Games will reach a global audience as a result of extensive TV coverage.

There will be live broadcasts from 18 channels in Latin America, Canada, USA, China, Russia, Malaysia, Romania and the Pan-Middle East. Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU), the official broadcaster of the Combat Games, owns 11 of these 18 channels. Universal Sports Network will broadcast the Games to 40 million homes in the USA. Three different platforms will show the Games in France and there will be daily highlights in Japan, Ukraine, France, Hong Kng and Croatia. 

Dr. Javad Mottaghi, Secretary-General of the ABU, said: “We at the ABU are looking forward to working with President Vizer, the World Combat Games organisers and IEC in Sport to help deliver this event to the broadest television audience possible. We also look forward to helping future World Combat Games reach their full potential”.

Fight Network will provide professional commentators for the entire duration of the Games.

IEC/S5 will manage the Game’s YouTube channel. Daniel Franck, Joint-CEO of IEC in Sports stated that: “the concept of the World Combat Games has been well received by broadcasters globally. IEC has been pleased to work closely with the Russian state broadcaster VGTRK and with SportAccord to create a television product that is high quality, relevant and ensures the best action from all 15 sports is seen”.
