Seven Soccer Referees Given Lifetime Bans by FIFA
August 9, 2011
Seven Soccer referees have been given lifetime bans following a match-fixing inquiry into exhibition games earlier this year by FIFA
The soccer body’s disciplinary panel imposed the sanction against four Hungarians and three Bosnians following a hearing at its headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland.
Arrests have occurred in Asia, Europe and Africa as the police are clamping down on miscreants who are bringing the sport into disrepute.
