Rome 2024 Reveals Bid Budget for Olympics; Chairman Rejects Referendum Calls

The Rome 2024 Olympic bid committee has revealed a bid budget of 24.9 million euros ($27 million) – more than double the previous estimate of 10 million euros (nearly $11 million).
Rome 2024 Chairman Luca Cordero di Montezemolo has also dismissed calls for a referendum on the city’s candidacy to host the 2024 Summer Games, saying it is not necessary.
