Project Manager – MLB

Overview:

Provide full life-cycle, day-to-day Project Management services to MLB

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead project teams in the day-to-day execution of technology implementation projects
  • Develop and maintain Project Deliverables in accordance with the MLB Project Management and Service Delivery methodologies such as
    • Project Charters
    • Communication Plans
    • Risk and Issue Identification procedures
    • Change management artifacts
    • Status reports
    • Test plans
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate detailed Project Plans
  • Manage multiple technology projects concurrently and with efficiency
  • Actively identify, document and mitigate project risk
  • Maintain compliance to established software development and operational procedures and methodologies
  • Actively manage project scope, timeline, cost, and customer satisfaction
  • Work with users and project teams to develop requirements, define scope, and delineate project plans as appropriate
  • Lead project teams through vendor and/or product selection exercises
  • Provide detailed status and issue reporting to project teams and leadership as requested and/or defined
  • Coordinate and facilitate scheduling and execution of project related activities and tasks

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • At least 3-5 years experience with full life-cycle IT Project Management
  • Experience successfully managing multiple projects, of varying size and scope, concurrently
  • Experience with structured product and vendor selections
  • Experience working with users to define requirements in both agile and waterfall methodologies
  • Proven track record managing projects on-time and under budget
  • Experience managing projects developed in a variety of technologies (packaged and custom development projects)

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Ability to interact successfully with all levels with operating areas and IT
  • Strong ability to assimilate complicated issues, simplify them and present alternatives to Project Teams and MLB leadership
  • Excellent verbal communication and negotiation skills, able to communicate and present situations/status to senior management
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Good understanding of ITIL service management processes or equivalent methodology
  • Solid leadership, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent relationship management skills
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Reasonable technical understanding and an ability to translate technical requirements and specifications into easily understood business concepts and vice versa

DEGREES, LICENCES PREFERRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science, engineering or related discipline.
  • PMP or PMI certification preferred
  • Six Sigma or ITIL certification(s) preferred
