Port Adelaide FC Sign CEE as Premier Partner

Port Adelaide Football Club have announced that Australian solar power and clean energy specialist Clean Energy Enterprises (CEE) has signed on as a premier partner to the Australian Football League (AFL) club.
The agreement will see Port Adelaide undertake several sustainability measures including conducting an audit to see where the club can improve, allergist purchasing and installing solar panels, cheap the purchase of carbon offsets for club air travel and the hiring of an internal sustainability officer.
CEE Managing Director Daniel Cobb said: “Our corporate message is about sustainability and through Port Adelaide we have a great opportunity to show how corporate Australia and a sporting organisation can work together for the benefit of the community, therapy the clean energy economy and the environment.
“It is no secret that South Australia has done more to encourage the uptake of clean energy technologies than any other state.
“This is demonstrated in the fact that it has almost double the penetration of residential solar power than other states in Australia.
“We hope this association with the Port Adelaide Football Club will continue this proud tradition.”
Port Adelaide chief executive Keith Thomas said the club was pleased to welcome CEE as a sponsor of the club and was keen to get the club up-to-speed from a sustainability perspective.
“It is important that sporting clubs show the way from a sustainability perspective just as much as corporate Australia does.”
The club and Solarshop, the CEE South Australian operation, will also hold seminars for consumers and businesses on how the partnership will ease the burden of rising electricity and gas costs in the home and at work.
