Pittsburgh Penguins Renews Sponsorship Deal with Dr Pepper Snapple Group

March 27, 2013

Dr Pepper Snapple Group have extended their sponsorship deal with the Pittsburgh Penguins for an additional seven years, buy through July 2020.

As the exclusive provider of carbonated soft drinks and other beverages at the CONSOL Energy Center since 2010, DPS gives fans a lot of flavor with more than 30 products to enjoy — such as Dr Pepper, Diet Dr Pepper, 7UP, RC Cola and more — while cheering on the Penguins. The agreement also covers teas, bottled water, energy drinks, juices and juice drinks.

In addition to exclusive vending and pouring rights, DPS will receive certain advertising provisions such as radio broadcast, in-venue signs and an annual playoff promotion. It will also continue its “Cap Trick” program, an under the cap contest where fans can accrue and redeem points with the purchase of select DPS beverages and participate in fun online activities for Penguins tickets and gear.

“Dr Pepper Snapple Group has been a valuable partner right from the first day we opened the CONSOL Energy Center three years ago,” said David Peart, Penguins senior vice president. “We are thrilled to keep these iconic beverages flowing well into the future and bring refreshment and flavor to Penguins fans and attendees at all of the other events at the arena.”

“This extended agreement is a great opportunity to get our brands in front of Pittsburgh Penguins supporters – some of the most passionate hockey fans in the world,” said Nick Geswein, senior vice president and general manager, Northeast business unit, DPS. “We are excited to continue this strong partnership with the team, CONSOL Energy Center and the Pittsburgh community.”
