Only 12% of Paralympics tickets sold
August 18, 2016
Empty seats at the Olympics in Rio have been a common sight – although organisers claim 85% of tickets have been sold.
But things stand to get much worse when the Paralympics start next month – the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) have admitted only 12% of tickets have been sold.
It’s a sharp contrast to London in 2012, who sold out their 2.7 million tickets for the Paralympics.
Organisers are hopeful for a late rush for tickets, with a new publicity campaign launching this week.
