Michael Phelps has alleged that he never raced against a clean international field.

Phelps, the most decorated Olympian of all time, has been giving evidence at the US House of Representatives Hearing into improving anti-doping measures.

“I don’t believe I’ve stood up at an international competition and the rest of the field has been clean,” he said.

The McLaren Report, published in two parts in 2016, alleged of a state-sponsored doping program in Russian sport.
