Meydan Forms New Partnership with World Equestrian Games

The leisure and tourism company Meydan have announced an agreement to sponsor the 2014 FEI World Equestrian Games in Normandy.

The luxury company who will sponsor the games which will be held from August 23 to September 7 also sponsored the last two World Equestrian Games, which were held at Aachen, Germany in 2006 and Kentucky, USA in 2010.

The new agreement entitles Meydan to an association with all eight disciplines which are on show in Normandy and they will also become the title sponsor of the World Endurance Championship on August 28.

Meydan Group Vice Chairman Malih Lahej Al Basti said: “We are pleased to demonstrate this passion (for equestrian sports) through our role as an official sponsor of the games

“This is a prestigious competition that is truly international in its reach. The event provides Meydan with an excellent means to communicate our role in equine sports and highlights our exciting commercial ventures here in Dubai.”

Meydan who is no stranger to the equestrian world also hosts and boasts a five month stint of world class thoroughbred horseracing which begins in March and is the world’s most expensive race day.
