Job responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Head of Marketing this role is responsible for successfully implementing tournament promotional campaigns and initiatives as defined in the strategy and plan. The Senior Marketing Manager will conceive, manage and monitor the local execution of defined milestones and advertising campaigns, promotional events, and other key promotional activities.

In collaboration with FIFA Zurich this role will facilitate on-site relationship with key stakeholders (Host Cities, Football Australia, New Zealand Football and others), keeping them committed to the promotional efforts within an agreed framework.

Job duties

The duties and responsibilities of the Senior Marketing Manager AUS & NZL include:

  • Working in collaboration with the Event Promotion team in Zurich to create dedicated promotional strategies for relevant assets and tournament milestones
  • Develop and deliver integrated marketing communications and promotional platforms using a mixture of online and offline channels
  • Oversee delivery of experiential programmes such as the FIFA Trophy Tour in Australia and New Zealand
  • Oversee delivery of digital marketing initiatives that drive fan engagement and ticketing outcomes
  • Oversee the delivery of key promotional initiatives such as the FIFA Sound music program
  • Show proactive and solution driven approach to promotions
  • Identify relevant and meaningful promotional opportunities
  • Set up KPI’s and monitoring for key promotional activities in the host countries
  • Detailed reporting on activities
  • Validation of promotion activities provided by stakeholders
  • Manage staff responsible for key event promotion activities in the host countries
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key event organisers, agencies and internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Marketing Services and the rest of the Local Entity team to ensure a successful FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023TM

Qualifications & experience

The successful candidate will have a University degree, preferably in Marketing/Communications along with a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in Marketing/Communications in an international environment, ideally dealing with external agencies across all core marketing disciplines. Previous experience working across both the Australian and New Zealand markets will be a distinct advantage, including previous work experience in football and/or major events in professional sports. The successful candidate will have knowledge of sports marketing, including sponsorship and brand communication.

Additional skills and requirements include:

  • An ability to deliver integrated marketing communications and promotional platforms using a mixture of online and offline channels;
  • Proven project management skills;
  • Experience in navigating complex internal and external stakeholder relationships and managing these at senior level;

Overview of the role

We’re looking for someone to take on the challenge of helping activate our brand across Sponsorship and PR as we move into the most exciting period in Vanarama’s history as we become part of the AutoTrader family. We need a creative, strategic, and highly organised person with a passion for football, content, and brand activation. This role sits across both football and automotive so will offer great variety. You’ll be tasked with growing our authority in electric vehicle leasing for organic search by building a strong digital PR strategy. We’ll also give you the creative freedom to execute standout PR and marketing campaigns across our football sponsorship to increase fan engagement with our brand. This role will also work closely with our Internal Comms team to champion our sponsorship and PR campaigns to help encourage our people to become advocates for the brand.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Working with our SEO/Digital PR agency you’ll help design and implement a digital PR strategy that earns us sustained coverage across high domain authority websites.

  • Identify opportunities to amplify Vanarama’s sponsorship of The National League by immersing yourself within the football news cycle and understanding the day-to-day goings on at National League level.
  • Working with the National League and agency partners you’ll be the guardian of our brand across all sponsorship channels including stadiums, events, social media and in PR.
  • Manage the key tentpole events of the National League football calendar including the end of season ceremonies and Promotion Final at Wembley Stadium.
  • Manage the editorial execution of both our PR and football content across the relevant social media channels.

This role is key to ensuring the successful delivery of the Commercial Hospitality Programmes with focus on the readiness of all technical aspects of Power, Utilities and Overlay builds and providing support to stakeholders where remedial action is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures operational readiness of Hospitality Infrastructure and Utilities, such as: Maintenance of facilities (HVAC, lifts/escalators, kitchen systems, hydraulic systems, CATV, and other stadium-owned equipment in general), Power availability (including ensuring generator operations and maintenance as per HOS needs/schedule), Logistic Routes, etc; including on match days.

Position Summary:

Based at the EL HQs in Nyon (Switzerland), the Communication and Project Manager will work and have responsibilities on projects and activities that make a measurable contribution to the execution of the EL’s new and ongoing related projects with focus on communications, relations/services to the member leagues and their clubs, and collective business/league development projects. The Head of Football Development is a critical position that will have strategic responsibility  for delivering ‘A flexible, inclusive and appealing playing offer’  one of six key strategic objectives outlined in the FAW’s strategy ‘Our Wales’ (2021-26).  

The role will be responsible for delivering high level targets of: – 

1. 120,000 registered players by 2026; 

2. 20,000 female by 2026;  

3. % representation from Ethnically Diverse Communities and with a health condition to be above the Welsh average by 2026;

The role is a member of the senior management team who will report in to the Chief Executive Officer.  They will lead and manage a central football development team, oversee a network of regional football development hubs and play a critical role in supporting the facilities strategy and investment to ensure impact on grassroots football.

THE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION OF WALES (FAW)

The Football Association of Wales (FAW) is the governing body of football in Wales and is responsible for promoting and developing the game at all levels from grass roots through to the professional game, including the Welsh Premier League and all International Teams. Founded in 1876 the FAW is the third oldest Association in the World, founder members of FIFA and UEFA, and together with the other British Associations is one of the Board Members of the International Football Association Board (IFAB).

The FAW is governed by a Board of Directors made up of an Independent Chair, the CEO, two Independent Non-Executives, the four Officers of the FAW and three elected Members. The FAW Board is responsible to the Shareholders of the FAW called the FAW Council. The Council is made up of elected and nominated representatives from Welsh Football. The FAW Council, with the FAW Executive, manages football related activities through a series of committees. The CEO has the responsibility to manage the business and all staff employed by the FAW.

The FAW is a Limited Company responsible for the development of football in Wales.. With over 100 full time staff and operating in over 50 countries, it has doubled group turnover in the past 5 years to £20m per annum. Its main sources of income are through FIFA, UEFA, grants, sponsorship and TV revenue. The FAW was responsible for bringing the UEFA Champions League final 2017 to Wales; it was then largest sports event in the world in 2017, staged in the smallest city, hosted by the smallest Association and the smallest country since the competition’s creation.
