Lotto New Zealand to Sponsor Winter Games NZ

Lotto New Zealand, the country’s lottery commission, announced its partnership with Audi Quattro Winter Games NZ which will take place this August in Queenstown and Wanaka.

As part of the sponsorship agreement, Lotto New Zealand will be constructing two ‘Lotto Villages’, which will be games-centric areas behind Lake Wakatipu and Wanaka. The villages will offer entertainment and relaxation areas for spectators and athletes alike during the 11 day event.

“We are very excited to be partnering with Winter Games NZ,” Lotto New Zealand’s Chief Executive, Wayne Pickup said. “The opportunity was a natural one for us to take up as we are a big supporter of local sporting talent. It’s a fantastic event in the sporting calendar and gives us a great chance to connect with the community in a fun environment”.

Audi quattro Winter Games NZ chief executive, Arthur Klap said: “Lotto New Zealand’s sponsorship is enabling us to create our strongest ever downtown presence and to engage more with both the local community and visitors.”

Sport NZ is the largest recipient of lottery funding in the country, receiving NZ$34m ($27.2m) last year.
