Leigh Centurions Renew O2 Partnership

November 4, 2014

English Rugby League club Leigh Centurions has renewed its partnership with telecommunications company O2 for the 2015 season.

The deal will see the O2 logo remain on the front of the club’s home and away kits along with a range of merchandise for a second consecutive season.

Leigh Centurions Head of Rugby Derek Beaumont said: “The association with O2 Leigh and such a powerful brand is exactly the type of professionalism that the Club wishes to portray. Both parties were highly delighted with the first year of the association.

“We have made rapid strides as a Club during the past year, no rx winning the Kingstone Press Championship League Leaders Shield and the Grand Final and losing only two games all year. We had a high-profile Tetley’s Challenge Cup quarter-final against Leeds Rhinos that was televised live on Sky and that gave our sponsors extra exposure.

“We now have over 30 players on full-time professional contracts together with a superb coaching, medical and back-up team and are looking to build on this last season’s successes.

“I am delighted that O2 Leigh see us as their professional partner and that the sponsorship has actually driven business to O2 Leigh. On a personal level, I have just transferred my own business communication plan to O2 Leigh and I have to say just how impressed I was by their service and product.”

Mr Beaumont added: “Our 2015 kit will be unveiled very shortly and we believe that our supporters will love our new home and away kit designs. The 02 Leigh logo takes centre stage on the design and will continue to prove very popular with our supporters.

“Over the next few weeks we will be announcing further kit sponsors and as a Club we are delighted with the support we have received from the local business community who are proud to be associated with Leigh Centurions.”

Nick Mussell- O2 Leigh Franchisee stated: “We have seen significant footfall increase during the sponsorship and I very much look forward to even more now that the Centurions have raised their profile yet further.

“I am delighted to see such dedication both on and off the field at the Club. The sponsorship means that O2 enjoy prime position on the front of the first-team shirts, a high standard of corporate facilities along with a whole host of terrific unique opportunities.

“We have had the Championship trophies here in our O2 Leigh Branch and we ran a very successful social media campaign with our customers having pictures taken with the trophies.”
