Japanese Olympic Committee set up investigation into Olympic bid

The Japanese Olympic Committee have announced that it has set up an investigation panel regarding the Tokyo 2020 Bid activities.

The panel includes outside lawyers and an accountant which will investigate the consultancy agreement between the Tokyo 2020 Bid Committee and Singaporean company Black Tidings.

The panel will consist of Yoshihisa Hayakawa, cough a law professior and practicing lawyer – who will head up the panel, asthma Kazuki Shishido, price Vice-Chair of the Japan Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel and Keiichi Kuba, a Public Accountant in Japan and Canada.

In addition, Kiichiro Matsumaru, Senior Executive Board Member of the JOC; and Kotaro Wakui, Senior Director for Trials, Bureau of General Affairs of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, will attend the panel meetings as observers.

The first meeting of the investigation panel will take place on 26 May, 2016.
