ITV’s Niall Sloane and Vitality’s Nick Read Join Impressive London Directors’ Club Panel

February 16, 2015

iSportconnect, the world’s largest private network for sports business executives, is delighted to announce that Niall Sloane, Director of Sport at ITV and Nick Read, Commercial Director at Vitality will be the final panellists for the Directors’ Club in London.

The first London Directors’ Club of the year will be held on 17th March.

Sloane and Read join an already impressively assembled panel which includes World Rugby CEO Brett Gosper, NFL UK Managing Director Alistair Kirkwood and Crystal Palace Chairman Steve Parish.

Niall has been ITV’s Director of Sport since 2009. In that time he has considerably expanded the range of their sport acquisitions and was responsible for last year’s biggest audience on British television at the Brazil World Cup.

Prior to that he was at the BBC where he was latterly, Head of Football and Head of Formula One.

Nick Read is the Commercial Director at Vitality (formerly known as PruHealth), the leading private medical insurer which has pioneered the concept of shared value where members are motivated to remain healthy through a range of discounts and incentives.

Vitality has recently made a significant investment in Sport as part of their brand development strategy where Nick has played a key role.

Formerly Nick was at Accenture (Andersen Consulting) working cross industry but ostensibly in Financial Services (banking and insurance).

Directors’ Club events are a gathering of exclusively invited director level delegates, partaking in a BBC Question Time-style discussion with a panel of well-established executives from the sport industry.

Followed by networking, the discussion is held under Chatham House rules, allowing for an open and free flowing debate.

Michael Cunnah, Chairman of iSportconnect, said: “We are very happy to add Niall and Nick to what is a strong looking panel. The pair will bring a different perspective which will make for a very interesting and engaging event.”

Nick Read said: “Sport has a unique power to inspire positive change in people’s lives. The partnerships Vitality has with leading sports figures, teams and events have been carefully chosen to help provide the necessary motivation sometimes needed to lead a more active lifestyle.

“The chance to debate the learnings we have gathered over the past decade in such a forum is an exciting prospect, and I very much look forward to the evening.”
