iSportconnect Announces Technology Directors Masterclass with Panellists Confirmed

February 19, 2014

iSportconnect, pill the world’s largest private network for sport business executives, is delighted to announce we will be hosting a Technology Directors Masterclass in London on April 3rd 2014.

The exclusive, invite only Masterclass series, is a unique gathering giving sports technology executives the chance to learn from other top level executives, hear industry insight based on pre-submitted questions, join in on group debates, network in a relaxed environment and book one on one meetings with our top quality panellists.

The next Masterclass event will be divided into two separate sessions, the first on Digital Media to explore how sports are using social media and other consumer facing products and the other to discuss the use of technology in sport. The panel for the Technology Directors Masterclass includes Daniel Marion, Head of ICT at European football’s governing body UEFA, David Jones, Vice President of IT, Europe for AEG, who own, operate or consult with more than 100 venues worldwide, Sanjeev Katwa, IT Director at City Football Group, who consist of Manchester City FC, New York City FC and Melbourne Heart. More thought leaders are to be confirmed.

The group will discuss the use of technology in sports and entertainment venues and identify what is working and what might not be. In particular the panel will discuss why it is that technology has been adopted at very different rates in different venues and the opportunities and challenges associated with generating revenue from new venue technologies. Delegates will have the opportunity to learn from some of the leaders in the sector, share their insights and ask questions to learn from those who really know.

Michael Cunnah, Chairman of iSportconnect who will moderate the Masterclass said: “Technology in sport is one of the hot topics in the industry. Everyone knows that eventually every venue will have wi-fi for all and it will be the basis for an essential part of the event experience but we want to identify what is holding back many venues and if there are any potential ways through for them. The Masterclass will allow those who work in this sector of sport to talk about the concerns they have and to learn from the very best in the industry.

“iSportconnect hosted a very successful inaugural Masterclass on Financial Fair Play towards the end of 2013 and we have been very pleased with the feedback that we received. I am confident that the Technology Masterclass will be of similar value to everyone involved.”

The Technology Directors Masterclass is an exclusive invite only event to Heads of IT and other similar positions. On the same day iSportconnect will host a Digital Media Masterclass for delegates to learn about best practise in social media, digital commercial products and more.
