India vs Sri Lanka CWC Final Picks up 35.91 Peak TVR Rating

As expected the International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup final match between India and Sri Lanka picked up a huge average rating of 23.2 with a peak rating of 35.91.

More than 120 million viewers sampled the match, which delivered an All India reach of 61 per cent, according to Tam ratings for All India  CS 4+ TG.

Not surprisingly, the finals’ rating also surpassed the 21 TVR garnered by the high profile India-Pakistan semi-final match, which was sampled by 115 million viewers.

Overall, the average TVR for the 2011 World Cup was 3.86 as compared to the 2.02 TVR in 2007 edition when India was knocked out of the tournament in the first round.

The nine India matches, which includes the quarter final, semi-final and finals, delivered an average TVR of 12.

By the end of the finals the live matches were watched by 180 million viewers on Star Sports, Star Cricket and DD Sports combined, which is 90 per cent of the total CS viewers, while the live matches being watched only on ESS is 166.2 million viewers, which is 84 per cent of the total CS viewers.
