Huawei Becomes Official Technology Partner of Washington Redskins

October 24, 2014

Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, has today been named the Official Technology Partner of NFL franchise, Washington Redskins.

The partnership includes Huawei Enterprise providing a Wi-Fi network for the Suite Level at the 85,000-seater FedExField, one of the largest stadiums in the National Football League, and represents the first major sports sponsorship for Huawei in the U.S.

Huawei brings to the Washington Redskins team extensive global experience providing networking and infrastructure solutions to some of the largest sports stadiums in the world, including Germany’s Signal Iduna Park, home of soccer team Borussia Dortmund, and in the Netherlands at the Amsterdam ArenA, where the Dutch soccer team Ajax plays.

The two organisations will jointly participate in marketing and also explore additional technology solutions to enhance the game day experience for Redskins fans.

“We are proud to welcome Huawei as a sponsor and technology partner of the Washington Redskins,” said Mitch Gershman, CMO for the Washington Redskins. “Huawei is a global brand and an ideal technology partner with leadership positions in networking, broadband, telecom and consumer devices.

“Making Wi-Fi available in FedExField is our latest way to enhance the Redskins fan’s experience. Huawei is the ideal technology partner, because Huawei has wired some the world’s largest stadiums and works with many of the world’s biggest telecom carriers.”

Jun Xu, vice president of Technical Solutions & Marketing at Huawei Enterprise USA, added: “It is an honor to work with the Washington Redskins, one of the most storied franchises in American sports. We look forward to working with the Redskins organization and leveraging our extensive experience with major stadiums around the world to create and provide the best game day experience to its technology-savvy fan base.”
