Havas Appoint Uwe Alten as Managing Director of Havas Sports & Entertainment Germany

Havas Sports & Entertainment (HS&E) have announced the appointment of Uwe Alten as Managing Director for the network’s office in Frankfurt.

Alten brings over 20 years of experience in consumer engagement and live events internationally across sports and entertainment.

Alten has worked for a host of brands including Mercedes, Allianz, Wella, Opel, Audi, Hyundai, Kia, and The Coca-Cola Company, among others.

His expertise and understanding of fan communities around sport and entertainment will help strengthen and develop HS&E’s offer in the German market, where the agency has been operating since 2007, delivering award winning projects for a variety of clients including Sparkasse, Hyundai, Kia, Puig and Lacoste.

Speaking exclusively to iSportconnect, Alten added: “Germany is a very mature sponsorship market in all aspects. Sports is the main driver and with the success and financial stability of the German Bundesliga and the passion in Germany for a wide range of sports, there are plenty of opportunities to look into.

“Furthermore the increase desire for music from the consumer side and the potential to reach them through digital communication opens new doors for discussions with clients.”

When asked what 2013 holds for Havas, Alten told iSportconnect: “There are a wide variety of initiatives. Clearly we have a lot of business opportunities with our Havas sister agencies to develop the consumer engagement of their clients, as a lot of briefs in the communication market involve experiential projects.
