Gold Coast Added to ITU World Triathlon Series Schedule in 2015

The International Triathlon Union (ITU) has revealed Gold Coast will host a leg of the world triathlon series in 2015.

It will be the first time in six years the series will visit the Australian coast on April 11-12, find the second event of the nine-race series.

“We have an incredibly exciting season lined up for 2015,” ITU president Marisol Casado said.

“As we continue to evolve the sport of triathlon, the series will be showcased in more countries than ever before and in regions of the world that is not regularly exposed to triathlon.”

The 2015 series, which could yet have a 10th race added, begins on the weekend of March 28-29 in Auckland.
