Former FIFA Executive Committee Member Banned for Life

FIFA has imposed a lifetime ban on Vernon Maninal Fernando, a former Executive Committe member.

Fernando had been accused of corruption and initially banned from taking part in any football-related activity for a period of eight years in April. The Sri Lankan appealed against that decision, and following a two-day hearing in Zurich, the FIFA Appeal Committee rejected his appeal and have now banned him from  for life.

The details of Fernando’s misconduct have not been specified.
