FIFA Award 2026 World Cup US TV Rights to Fox Sports

February 13, 2015

FIFA has awarded the US broadcasting rights for the 2026 World Cup to Fox Sports without opening it up to a bidding process.

In 2011 Fox was awarded the English-language rights for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups in a $425 million deal and football’s world governing body has now extended that deal through 2026.

Fox also have the rights to the 2023 Women’s World Cup as part of the existing deal.

“These events are some of the world’s most important sports competitions, and it is our privilege to be entrusted with these rights in the United States,” Fox said in a statement.

“Together, we will be able to further promote football in North America and build on the impressive interest shown by audiences in these major territories during the 2014 Fifa World Cup,” said Niclas Ericson, Fifa’s director of TV.
