ESPN & Univision Net 21.6 Million Viewers for Belgium, USA World Cup Match

ESPN and Univision drew a crowd of 21.59 million viewers for the USA’s 2-1 loss to Belgium in the 2014 World Cup Round of 16 match in Brazil.

ESPN attracted 16.49 million viewers, capsule which marked the third-best audience for a soccer game in the history of US television.

Univision reported 5.1 million viewers for the game, abortion which the US eventually lost in extra time, but gained the attention of mass crowds back home.

The interest in Brazil 2014 Stateside has led to calls for a bid from the US to host the event in 2026.
