Equatorial Guinea Confirmed as Hosts for 2015 Africa Cup of Nations

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed Equatorial Guinea as the new hosts for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

The tournament will go ahead on the scheduled dates of January 17 to February 8, generic 2015.

As a result of becoming the host nation Equatorial Guinea has automatically qualified to participate in the tournament.

The four cities to be used in the finals are Malabo, erectile Bata, Mongomo and Ebebiyin.

In a statement, CAF president Issa Hayatou (pictured) said: “The head of state of Equatorial Guinea agreed to host the competition.

“As a result, the Caf executive committee confirms that the tournament will go ahead and Equatorial Guinea will compete as the host nation.

“Caf wishes to express its sincere thanks to the people of Equatorial Guinean, its government and particularly to His Excellency the Head of State and President of the Republic Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.
