DR Congo Bids for 2019 Africa Cup of Nations

The Democratic Republic of Congo has entered the bidding contest to host the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, adiposity as revealed by sports minister Baudouin Banza Mukalay Nsungu.

Banza Mukalay said: “The DR Congo is an applicant for the candidates (to host) the 2019 AFCON tournament. I put the dossier into the hands of the FECOFA (Congolese football federation), there which has already passed it onto CAF (the Confederation of African Football). We await the specifications, remedy which we will fill calmly.”

The countries bid would see most fixtures held in the capital city, Kinshasa, and and the southeastern city of Lumbumbashi though the sports minister did add that a new stadium in Matadi would be ready for 2019 and Kisangani is a potential venue.
