  • Overview: 

The Director, treat Security leads, sales directs and manages building and event security operations for the St. Louis Cardinals and Busch Stadium.  This includes the management of 24- hour building and event security operations, the planning and execution of emergency preparedness and response protocols, and maintaining relationships with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.  The Director, Security serves as the stadium and team security liaison with Major League Baseball.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct Building Security to ensure the protection of the Stadium, Team and assets.

  • Lead and direct Event Security to ensure the protection all guests while maintaining the St. Louis Cardinals commitment to provide a safe, clean, fun, family-friendly event experience.

  • Lead and direct Company Risk Assessment, and the subsequent development and execution of Threat Response Protocols, Emergency Response, Business Continuity Plan in order to maintain compliance with league and DHS Safety Act requirements;  maintaining appropriate documentation for each.

  • Ensure that all MLB regulations, requirements and best stadium security operations practices are enforced and maintained on game day and throughout the year.

  • Prepare and manage annual operating budgets for security Operations.

  • Advise Team Ownership and Executive Management Team on strategic security issues.

  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with the various City, State and Federal law enforcement and emergency response agencies.

  • Physical protection responsibilities will include asset protection, workplace violence prevention, access control systems, video surveillance, and more (as well as documenting policies and procedures around the same).

  • Develop and recommend for approval policies, procedures and programs designed to enhance the safety and security for venue.

  • Conduct investigations and prepare reports of accidents, thefts, property loss and unlawful activities.

Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) from accredited 4 year college in Administration of Justice, Business Administration or related field; or combination of years of experience and education.

  • 7-10 years’ experience as law enforcement officer or military

  • 7-10 years’ experience as Event Security Provider

  • Professional Security Certification such as ASIS CPP or NCS4 CSSP

  • Knowledge of facility risk assessment and threat response protocols.

  • Knowledge of emergency response management including NIMS and ICS protocol.

  • Knowledge of DHS recommendations and resources for Critical Infrastructure Security.

  • Knowledge of security procedures and techniques for the protection of buildings, assets and personnel.

  • Knowledge of security technology for the protection of buildings, assets and personnel.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Excellent leadership skills especially in emergency response situations.

  • Excellent collaborative relationship skills with company employees and outside agencies.
