DC United and Inter Milan Owner Announces Strategic Partnership

DC United co-owner Erick Thohir only took over Serie A club Inter Milan in recent weeks, but he has already announced a “collaborative agreement to form a strategic partnership” between the two clubs.

According to an official announcement from the MLS club and Inter, the agreement will include: “sharing of team, organizational and competitive best practices … subject to relevant rules and regulations of the appropriate governing bodies.”

Indonesian media mogul, Thohir gained majority control over Inter on November 15 after becoming co-owner of United a year earlier on July 10, 2012.

D.C. managing general partner Jason Levien commented: “We are thankful for the opportunity to work collaboratively with Inter.

“We believe this relationship will prove a significant benefit to D.C. United’s growth and long-term achievement.”
