Dan Johnson and Andy Cairns Confirmed as Panelists for First Media and Communications Masterclass

iSportconnect, the world’s largest global private network of sports business executives, is delighted to announce the first Media and Communications Masterclass will take place in June.
The event will be held on June 17th with Dan Johnson, Director of Communications at the Premier League and Andy Cairns, Head of Sky Sports News, confirmed as the first panelists.
Dan Johnson was appointed Premier League Director of Communications in 2011 with overall responsibility for external, internal and stakeholder communications as well as editorial control of digital and social channels. He also contributes to the Premier League’s public affairs strategy.
Dan joined the Premier League in 2001 as press officer after having worked as a lobbyist and policy advisor. In that time the Premier League has enjoyed significant growth with the resulting increased levels of delivery and scrutiny across all elements of its activities, particularly governance and investment outside of the League.
Dan has been a member of various industry groups in the past, most notably the Football Foundation’s Facilities Assessment Panel and the Home Office Football Disorder Group.
Andy Cairns has been Executive Editor at Sky Sports News for the last 16 years. He was previously sports editor at Sky News where he also worked as a presenter and reporter.
Andy trained in local newspapers in Surrey and South London before working for BBC TV News, first with Look East and then with BBC News in London.
Andy has been a member of the media advisory panel for the Departure of Culture Media and Sport on Women in Sport. He is also a member of the NCTJ (National Council for the Training of Journalists) Accreditation Board, pushing to ensure student journalists receive the best and most appropriate training to prepare them for jobs in the rapidly changing media world.
The Media and Communications Masterclass will be an open event with presentations and discussions for senior media industry experts and Executives from across sport to discuss and learn about the growing trends and issues in the industry.
Our invitation-only Masterclass events provide a relaxed environment for middle and senior level executives to learn from the experts, share knowledge, discuss issues and do business.
Masterclass events are sector specific and identify important emerging trends and developments within specialised subjects.
