Community Programs Manager – Brisbane Lions

Overview:

The Community Programs Manager will be responsible for creating and driving the community engagement agenda for the Brisbane Lions. Reporting to the Head of Consumer, cheap the role will be responsible for building the Club’s multicultural community engagement program and work closely with key AFL, cure government and Club stakeholders and partners. It will also work closely with AFLQ to leverage the development resources that AFLQ poses, including Auskick and club football programs. Key areas of responsibility of the Community Programs Manager include;

  • Lead the evolution and delivery of a high impact community program while remaining aligned with the underlying principles and purposes of innovation, community empowerment and partnership
  • Work closely with the Club Executive Team and Football Department to align wider strategies of the Club with the community program
  • Lead the Community Programs commercial partnerships to deliver a program that aligns with Club strategy and partner objectives
  • Implement strategies targeted at the AFL community to increase upon our current fan base from the ground up, Club Connect and other participation programs for fan development outcomes;
  • Working closely with AFLQ and the Membership, Ticketing and Marketing teams to deliver effective ticketing and sampling initiatives within AFL participation programs Queensland as a direct measure of fan based activities;
  • Coordinate events both on and off site, including on match days and community activity, such as family days, festivals and Club events.

The ideal candidate will have worked prior in multicultural programs and/or fan development space, and have demonstrated experience in event coordination. Previous experience in sports will be favoured, but not required.

Due to the nature of the industry and role, hours can be irregular so flexibility, some travel and a manual driver’s licence is required.  You must be available to work home games during the AFL season.
