Overview:

Triathlon New South Wales is the State Sporting Organisation responsible for the development, promotion and governance of the multisports of triathlon, aquathlon and duathlon throughout NSW. Triathlon NSW has a very strong relationship with the National Body, Triathlon Australia and works co-operatively on multiple projects for the betterment of the sport as a whole.

Triathlon NSW’s strategy is is built around the challenge of mutual progression across the three purpose pillars of passion, participation and performance.

Reporting to the CEO, the Communications and Marketing Manager is part of the senior management group within Triathlon NSW and is accountable for the development of a Communications and Marketing Strategy to assist in the delivery of the Strategic Plan.

Through pro-active leadership the Communications and Marketing Manager will be measured against:

The ability to manage the communications and marketing efforts efficiently and effectively in conjunction with the Chief Executive Officer in line with the Strategic Plan.The ability to effectively develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and members.The ability to effectively manage resources to achieve the aims and objectives of Triathlon NSW.The ability to develop and grow participation of Triathlon NSW utilising innovative engagement and marketing strategies.The ability to support Race Directors and Affiliated Clubs in development of sustainable participation opportunities within NSW.

To be considered for this role you will be experienced in marketing and media management, including writing press releases, articles and stories for a variety of audiences across traditional and digital / social media platforms.

You will be self-motivated, with the ability to manage competing priorities and tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of attention to detail. The capacity to build and maintain relationships and strategically engage a diverse group of stakeholders is required.

Tertiary qualifications in marketing, communications or journalism and a background in the promotion of sporting events is desirable. Experience in a membership, sport or Not-For-Profit environment and an understanding of triathlon would be an advantage.

This role requires the ability to work autonomously, yet importantly as a member of a small team the role will encompass assisting in all aspects of Triathlon NSW operations; including contributing to events and administration. As Triathlon NSW shares office space with Triathlon Australia, this is a rare opportunity to be exposed to National initiatives while focussed on programs at State level.
