Commonwealth Bank to Sponsor KFC T20 Big Bash League
December 6, 2012
Cricket Australia (CA) today announced that Commonwealth Bank has extended their support of cricket by coming on board as an official partner of the KFC T20 Big Bash League.
Cricket Australia also partnered with US headwear brand New Era Cap Co, Inc., last month in a deal that will see all players, coaches and staff from each BBL team ‘don’ the latest in high-tech cricketing fashion – the ‘59Fifty’ cap.
CA’s Executive General Manager Operations Mike McKenna said: “The growth of KFC T20 BBL has been great and we are very pleased to have Commonwealth Bank, as our longest standing commercial partner of 26 years, expand their already extensive support and join the growing family of sponsors involved at both the CA and team level in cricket’s newest and most exciting format.”
“To now have Australia’s number one bank and number one car company, Toyota, join us this season is evidence of the growing strength of the KFC T20 BBL.
“Big Bash is an exciting and entertaining competition that appeals to a wide range of businesses across varying commercial areas and this is evident in the sponsors teams have brought on board this season.
Commonwealth Bank’s General Manager, Brand and Sponsorships, Monique Macleod said: “We’re excited to be expanding our footprint in cricket by supporting the domestic Twenty20 competition. We’re looking forward to being part of this exciting format over the 2012/13 summer, in addition to our ongoing support of the international game.”
