February 10, 2014

CNBC’s “The PROFIT, ed ” the popular entrepreneurial reality series returning for a second season on February 25 at 10PM ET/PT on CNBC, has become a corporate partner of the Phoenix International Raceway.

As part of the new relationship, “The PROFIT” will act as the official title sponsor for the track’s March 2 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event: ‘The Profit on CNBC 500, Presented by Small Business Fueling America.’

The announcement was made today on CNBC by Phoenix International Raceway President Bryan R. Sperber and Marcus Lemonis, serial entrepreneur and star of CNBC’s “The Profit.” Steve Phelps, NASCAR Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, joined them for the announcement.

“We are excited to partner with Marcus and his team at ‘The PROFIT’ and CNBC on our NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race next month,” Sperber said. “Small businesses have been fueling NASCAR from its very beginning, so this partnership is a great match.”

When Marcus Lemonis isn’t running his multi-billion dollar company, Camping World, he goes on the hunt for struggling businesses that are desperate for cash. In the past 10 years, he’s successfully turned around over 100 companies. Now he’s bringing those skills to CNBC and doing something no one has ever done on TV before … he’s putting millions of dollars of his own money on the line. And once inside these companies, he’ll do almost anything to save the business.

“This unique partnership is a great opportunity to draw attention to small business which is the heart and soul of the American economy, “ Lemonis explained. “We are proud to be a race sponsor and what better way to celebrate the launch of a new season of ‘The Profit’ than with passionate NASCAR fans.”

‘The PROFIT on CNBC 500, Presented by Small Business Fueling America’ will be the capstone event on the fourth and final day if PIR’s March race weekend.
